You are doing really well! Remember that you can buy dvds, cds on Amazon as well as sell them & for really good prices too. You are not so badly in debt that you need to sacrifice your LOR collection, I would keep it.
Spending diary is essential & Im sure the mobile bill can be cut back. Also, remember that minimum payments are the worst way to pay off CC debts. If you keep paying the CURRENT minimums & dont reduce them as the debt drops, you will pay off a lot quicker (of course ideally pay as much as you can). Is it worth applying for 0% card & transferring balance, then all payments go to debt not interest.Proud to be dealing with my debts :j

I'd say the best advice to get out of debt is to stop spending money.
0% cards or a low cost loan might help you get straight again. ONLY if you don't just spend more than you earn again.
If you REALLY must buy more cds or dvds (sounds a bit complusive to me. You tried DVDA? ;-)), get them on ebay. And be patient. Always more tat in the ebay. Er, or something.
Half of my house has come from ebay. It's great! :-)0 -
I have to agree here with IXwood.
While you are still squandering money - getting debt free is getting further away, as its behavour that can change your mind, as well as changing your mind changing your behaviour.
Personally, I am getting there by seldom buying anything I dont NEED ie will I die without this item, will my health or welfare be compromised. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Work out your hourly rate and then before you ever spend any money, convert the price to "Hours Of My Time" and then think about whether it's worth it and you still want it.
e.g. If you earn £7.00 per hour. Knock a couple of quid off for tax, so say you get £5.0 per hour. If a DVD is £20, 20/5 = 4. So that will cost you 4 hours of working to buy it. Is it still worth it? Up to you?0 -
Thanks for the advice will bear this in mind.3rd Light Bulb Moment 31/12/08Current debt
