  • I commute to London to work 'cos it doubles my salary. It's worth the 1 hour journey (10 min walk, 45 min train journey, 5 min walk) and £3,400 train fare.

I make my commute time "my" time. I have a Kindle and read books, listen to my iPod or catch up on facebook/twitter on my iPhone. Admittedly there are bad days (yesterday we sat for half an hour while police chased a suicidal woman off the train line) but generally it's not too bad. The strike days suck though. Living 30 miles from work, you are completely at the strikers' mercy and are forced to take holiday. All in all though, it's worth it for the money (and to work in the City - great social life after work when you're young!)
