My current job takes 21 minutes (quickest) to get there, and 25 minutes (quickest) to get home. It usually takes around 30-40 minutes due to waiting for the bus and traffic and it costs £2.60 return a day.
Now, I am looking for jobs within 40 minutes from home, is this reasonable? Would you turn down a job if you it took 56 minutes to get there? I don't have any information on wage or hours. But I know the wage and hours are likely to be more then my current job, since I work 19.5 hours/week at £6.88/hour.
LOL sorry? It takes 56 minutes?!! Is that a long time?
I used to go from Barking to Ealing Broadway many years ago and that's a lot longer door to door
If you are unemployed 13 weeks or more you have to by law agree to travel 1hr 30 mins EACH WAY!!0 -
You clearly haven't understood how differcult it is to get a job. I've looked for two proper jobs in my life, and it took 8 months of applying to get a job offer.... Then it takes a while to get the contract signed ect. Jobs are hard to come by!> I'm 22 by the way
It takes me an 1hr 15mins from Door to Office, which isn't too bad getting a metro paper on the tube. A benefit is that it only costs me £2.10 a day for the return trip from zone 5-1

Jobs don't tell you how where the job is or how long it takes there. If I knew, I wouldn't apply there.
Because if it was a direct employer then you look them up first0 -

How comes it only cost you £2.10? Do you have family working in transport?0 -

When you look at jobs on websites. They are very vague and you don't even know what the employer is.
I do know as I too am looking for work and never apply for a direct job unless they tell me in the advert a rough location of where it is. If they saw city I know its 30 mins if they say west end I know its 45 if they say west London I know it's an hr plus0 -

Well, 56 minutes according to TFL, it could be 2 hours due to delays.0 -

You clearly don't grasp the fact, that when you apply for jobs, the employers don't tell you where the job location is. It could be 5 minutes away, but the employer told me it was in an area that was 56 minutes. I clearly should of written that since some people are too stupid to understand.
Look - stop trying to justify a stupid decision.
An hour's travel is nothing in the great scheme of things and tbh if I don't have to do the driving then the journey home is my wind down time so that by the time I get home the frustrations of the day have passed.2014 Target;
