Thanks for that - only got the 3G as just about same price refurbished as non-3G brand new and could come in handy when camping etc. Quite excited now...but of course apart from checking them, can't use it until Xmas:(

What was involved in returning the unwanted one? Was it free & covered insurance-wise? How quick did they refund?

Finally bought 3 x 3G on Tuesday, arrived today but now find I could save £52 as price dropped.

Email them and ask for the difference to be refunded. They will probably reply and agree, I have done this many times and recently. If they don't agree ask them whether they would rather you return them and reorder but honestly its not usually a problem.

Update on lasts nts posting....

(Can't find the thread from last nt re the reduced prices of the kindles i.e. refurb was £98.59)

Emailed Amazon to ask if they would save us all the hassle of returning 3x Kindles at £115.99 to then re-order & post out 3 x Kindles at £98.59 & simply refund the price difference. Had a reply first thing this am to say they were looking into it and would get back to me (may take up to 5 days). I haven't heard anymore today and now look tonight to find they have put the price back up to £115.99 this evening. Frustrating as their delay in answering my logical request means re-ordering at cheaper price is not an option now.

Please dont get me wrong - I only raise this whole issue because their 30 dy return policy exists - had it not then I would have been disappointed to have not saved the cash but taken attitude that these things happen.


Hopefully they will still come back favourably and realise although the price has gone back up that I could've gone ahead and returned & re-ordered but awaited their stated reply.

Does anyone know if Amazon have addressed the issue with the Kindle freezing and restarting repeatedly? I know they were VERY reluctant to replace glitchy devices, too, as they were, "working on a resolution", but that won't help if I get a couple of these for Xmas pressies and they crash and burn.

I think it was something to do with the official cases they were selling, the problem didn't occur with the lighted ones just the plain leather ones, something to do with the metal clips that secured the kindle in the case causing short circuits
