Does buying things on deals count? I always look for the cheaper deal (by comparing supermarket prices) but reduced items aren't as free flowing as they used to be. Could be as I'm not a student anymore I basicly don't have the time to wait around for the reducing man and then wait in teems of people whilst the machine breaks down...all the time realising those minutes (and even hours) I will never get back and infact will be lost from my sleep. (I digress....)
I tend to look for deals as I say but in terms of reduced end-of-date items? the chance would be a fine thing! Always visit the section when I'm there but rarely ever find anything I eat. I only eat certain things (long standing E.D).
The only things I seem to not have to pay full price for are clothes, shoes, make-up, haircare and occasionally skin care (basicly anything that isn't food!) as certain shops sell them at reduced prices/ebay/sale times are when I save up and then shop for these things. I always try to get cashback though unless its over-ruled by the delivery costs.0 -
I never buy full price chicken breasts - total rip off
cheese - bogof or 2 for £3
cereal, fizzy drinks, packs of lager
I have never bought just chicken breasts as I have always bought a complete chicken as I SC it and every bit of meat is used and the stock is used to make soups with Far more economical in my eyes and I live alone so its not as though I am cooking for more than me.I have stopped buying cola as its just got to silly prices for a bottle of pop I would rather buy OJ and water it down a bit0 -
Paper towels. Saw a packet of 6 Plenty fat roll towels in the tat section reduced from £7.23 down to £4.50. Reason is that the packet was ripped and had a bit of sellotape. The contents was fine With 15% staff discount as well - £3.83.0

Lamb. the portions are far too small for the atrocious price.0

Sliced bread (someone always has it on a half-price promotion offer somewhere)."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0

fresh tuna, far too expensive. bought a loin for 84p from ASDA the other day on offer, and cod fillets, they are too expensive for me. luckily the local ASDA has deals all the time. Other than that, I go for deals on things like chicken0

Smoked salmon - it nearly always seems to be discounted to half price, so I don't bother if it's not.
Cheddar - I sometimes buy it at full price, but it's so often discounted that it's rarely necessary. Unfortunately nicer cheeses aren't discounted quite so often :-(0
