I don't think people leading normal busy lives do this, no. I know I certainly don't and a quick straw poll of those around me, most laughed at the idea of doing such
This comes up quite often.
When your shopping, next time, have a look at the way people treat clothes in shops. They sneeze over them, drop/knock them on the floor, handle them with dirty hands, try them on their sweaty bodies etc.
That alone should convince you that clothes need washing before wearing.
Also, clothes are routinely treated with anti-fungal and other treatments. Which its best to remove before wear.
If its a natural product, you'll get some dye leakage if you wear before washing.
So its not such a daft thing to wash before wearing

I get the dirty hands bit - cant really be helped that but where on earth do you shop that all the clothes are kicked around and on the floor? I wouldnt shop there if thats the way people treat the clothing and if the store staff let them do so.one of the famous 50 -

Ahh i see.. Well you cant moan for a 3 pound pair of jeans or whatever they sell. Then again you probably get just as much germs on your hands from using the door handles then the clothes. Just dont think about it much - unless its undies - then yes wash em.one of the famous 50

Those of us with busy lives whose skin reacts to the chemicals they treat fabric with do, and those who can't stand that smell that new clothes have. Wouldn't life be dull if we were all the same...0 -
In the letter to Primark, did you suggest or offer any potential action that would (in your eyes) remedy the situation?
If not, you have made the biggest mistake in complaint letter writing - explaining what has happened and what you want them to do about it.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

No-one's mentioned the poor six year old Chinese kid with bloody stumps for fingers who's now been fined a months wages (60p?) for losing a perfectly good sewing machine needle.......0
