I don't think it's that big a deal. Giving just a name doesn't really identify anyone. If it's not her, then it doesn't matter, because you're not identifying anyone by that name in particular. It may be a really common name. Imagine if someone had said it was Jane Smith. It wouldn't really mean anything unless Jane Smith had been convicted. You wouldn't be identifying every Jane Smith in the country as a criminal.

However if it is not a common name and googling it seems to suggest it is certainly not common. And there is a person of that name in the local area who suddenly starts recieving unpleasant attention linked to this event.. Then I wouldn't want to be the person who initially stated the name incorrectly on the internet or spread it.

"The defendant Mrs Rubia Hamid was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court and given a 12 month sentence suspended for two years, 200 hours community service, ordered to pay £500 compensation and banned from driving for three years. She will also have to take an extended driving test before she is allowed back on the road."

Meanwhile, some toff twit, who was climbing a statue and threw a bin at a car, gets sixteen months. Go figure.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

For all the doubters on this topic. The footage is very much real as the old man is my relation and is fine now and recovered well. Well done to the guys for securing a conviction on 24th June 2011 at Isleworth Crown Court Case no 13 T20110552. You may not agree with the verdict but Judge has the last say. Driving ban 3 years and retake an extended driving test. 12 mths sentence suspended for 24 mths. £500 compansation for victimand 200 hours community service. The culprit has 3 kids which played a big part in judge's decision..
If it wasn't for the Dash Cam I dont think Police would have found enough evidence to get a conviction. Victim was taken to Ealing Hospital on 19th Jan 2011. There was a mention in Times Online newspaper I think on 8th July 2011(papers do their due dilligence before printing). Only after watching the footage CPS decided there was enough evidence to further the case to dangerous driving and other charges. The case took 5 mnths as the woman kept pleading Not Guilty but saw sense eventually. I met the occupants of the Dash-Cam car and they are all genuine guys who have done more than what was expected of them. So Well done to those Guys. If it was fake (like suggested by some) them they would not have put the whole footage but only the relevant bits. Footage played a big part in this case.

The Times Online Article talked about Heroes who caught Hit and Run driver on Dash-Cam etc. Along those lines.
