I find the Sainsbury's basics range very good overall. One thing that doesn't do it for me, though, is the basics chocolate - that's horrible!

thanks schtee, I have included the choc on the front page under "not worth buying"

Aww don't feel bad. DH and I look at it in the way of a challenge every time we go shopping together, trying to find where all thesmartprice products are placed, filling our trolley up with a mass of white and green and giggling as it is a little embarassing, but the pride we get from seeing the treasure trove in our trolley, knowing it is all good stuff for much less, far outweighs the minor embarrassment. What other people think doesn't matter, you are shopping your way, they are shopping theirs, live and let live :A

hi Raindrops, any further recomendations from asda smartprice?

    Sainsbury's basics part-baked baguettes are nice - 38p for a pack of 2.

hello Mrs De Bris, is the baguettes frozon or chilled?

2nd Asda smart price Red Pesto.:money:
Cheaper than ANYWHERE on the planet and tastes great.I get a good 4 meals out of 1 x 60p jar and it keeps for 2 weeks once opened.

Lidl Free Range Eggs still 85p for 6.
Battery eggs still 85p for 10 but the quicker we phase out battery farming the better. Them chickens just don't look healthy.

thanks psilas, i have included on the front page

Couldn't see this on the list (might be blind)

Sainsbury's Basics Pains au Chocolat (4)
    They're lovely! :)

However the normal sainsburys verison is only 17p more expensive and it was on offer this week:mad:

    Sainsbury's Pains au Chocolat (4) £1.08 (normally £1.36)
    Sainsbury's Basics Pains au Chocolat (4) £1.19

thanks for the recomendation, I have added this to the front page of this thread, glad also you included the link, I thought there was a typo at first :)
