I bought a jar of the Sainsburys Basics peanut butter (crunchy) last week, and I love it - I'll never buy a more expensive brand again! It has a tiny bit more oil in it that the expensive brands, but it is still about 90% peanut and has a more spreadable texture. Really nice on toast
I'm also a big fan of the Sainsburys Basics pork shoulder joints - we had roast pork made with one this weekend, and it was really delicious, great crackling!
Others that are on the list but that I'll add support to are the basics flour, and part baked baguette.
(I'm not a Sains fangirl, its just the biggest supermarket within walking distance!)0 -
asda poatoes are great 2.5 kg bag for about 85p
yes they are mucky potatoes i have been using them for two years and i love them
i also like the massive packs of frozen garlic in blocks £1 for enough garlic to last a year
asda own make of cheese is also nice the extra mature cheddar £2 for a massive block0 -
Popped to the local Co$tcutter for oven chips the other day and they didn't have the usual branded chips I buy so I ended up buying their own brand (Heritage) Steak cut oven chips.
They are the worst chips I have ever tasted. I will never buy them again. Its strange because I have bought Sain$burys steak cut and Mr T's discount branded steak cut oven chips and they have been lovely !0 -
I bought some of Mr S's cooking bacon for the first time in a month or more and was amazed to see that it had dropped in price from abot £1.36 to £1 and was bigger at 670grms!!! I got one that looked like it had decent slices for frying and one with thick chunks for a steamed pudding. Fantastic stuff!!!0

usually love all Sains basics but bought their frozen battered fish portions 97p for 4. They were horrendous, wouldn't even give them to the cat. Vile minced fish and greasy bitter coating, yuk!October Grocery Challenge £4000

Morrison value 'yellow pack' homebrand pack of round tortillas.
Thay are horrible, taste like they have been made with wallpaper paste, totally stuck together so wripped when trying to separate them, smaller than other brands, so not that good value!
Now just buy 'discovery' brand when its on offer, they freeze well and dont take up much room!0 -
I agree with the Basics eggs, especially as they aren't from battery hens, they are a little more expensive egg for egg than Tescos and Asdas but I feel a bit better buying them
