    So far I've tried:
SP Crispy Rice Cereal: Disgusting - Hard and chemical/cardboard tasting :(
SP Cornflakes: Ok, nothing special but definitely edible :)
    SP Milk Chocolate: Delicious! :D
SP Extra Mature White Cheddar: Lovely :)
SP UHT Skimmed Milk: Great :)
SP Salted Butter: Really yummy :D
SP Chicken Flavour Instant Noodles: Also really quite nice! :D
SP Medium Brown Bread Sliced: Ok, could have more grains as it tastes quite like white bread :)
SP Cheese and Tomato Pizza x2 pk: Nice, not much cheese or sauce but very big for the price :)
SP Smoked Salmon Trimmings: Wouldn't eat on their own but cooked in scrambled egg or pasta they are fine! :)
SP Toilet Roll 4pk: A little thin but does the job! :)
SP Tinned Vegetable Soup: Yummy :D
SP Tinned Cream of Chicken Soup: Nice, very flavoursome :D
SP Baked Beans: Can't tell the difference from branded! :D
SP Whole Chicken: Delish and would last for many dishes :D
SP Orange Juice: Lovely, not too acidic/sour tasting like most cheap OJs - Nice and sweet :D
SP Mozzarella: Creamy and good texture but has a little twang when eaten uncooked :)
SP Kitchen Roll: As good as branded :D

Basics Jaffa Cakes: Can't tell the difference from branded! :D
Basics Cookies: Tasty but small and not much chocolate chips :)

Will report to this thread as hubby and I try things!

    Hello
I like the Sainsbury range and most of what is in it but feel like im beeing looked at as a cheepskate anyone else feel the same

Aww don't feel bad. DH and I look at it in the way of a challenge every time we go shopping together, trying to find where all thesmartprice products are placed, filling our trolley up with a mass of white and green and giggling as it is a little embarassing, but the pride we get from seeing the treasure trove in our trolley, knowing it is all good stuff for much less, far outweighs the minor embarrassment. What other people think doesn't matter, you are shopping your way, they are shopping theirs, live and let live :A
  • we regularly get smartprice

    -spaghetti (not the timmed kind)
    -pasta
    -kidney beans
    -shampoo and conditioner
-biscuits (custard creams and cookies but beware the smartprice nice biscuits are more expensive than the normal asda ones)
-kitchen roll is ace loads on a roll although not as white as others but i dont mind
    - tomatoes still worth buying, can be a bit watery but a squirt of tomato puree sorts that out
    - baby wipes
    -fabric softner
    -stir fry mix
    - onions
    -mushrooms

Will add anything else as i remember/ try them

  • I'd say the majority of our shopping is the 'cheaper' variety. I recently tried the smartprice nappies in Asda and have to say I've had no problems with them at all. DS drinks like a fish so buying the branded ones were extortionate the amount if times I change his nappy every day. £1.91 for 24 - not bad at all :D

Seeing as i have brought mostly the basics range this week i had best share my findings. The Basics 100g Milk Chocolate bar is very good for 35p i should have brought two. The Sainsbury's Sponge Scourers, Basics x5 £0.15 are allso very good.

thanks Bekk0 I have added your recommendations to the first page of this thread, thanks once again :)
