I prefer Asda's down Dolly Mixtures to any other shop or brand! Asda do (or used to) do 2 lots of Dolly mixtures, one in a coloured packet and one in a white smart price packet. The smart price packet ones were the nicest

hi Vikki_louise I want to add your smartprice recommendations for asda, but not completely clear !!!! are you recommending smart Dolly Mixtures???

Here some more (from the misss shopping today)

    Smaller retailers
Farmfoods=packets of bacon=4 quid (2 quid each per 3 packs we only bought 2 lots for our freezer)
3 packets of lamb chops=2 quid
    2 large Chickens=3 quid

Cooltrader stores= 3x 2LTR of pepsi, Diet coke,Pepsi max and Coca cola zero=2.00 for 3 bottles of 2LTR (depending on availabilty)
48 packets of chrisps in box all flavors....2.00
weigh watchers ready meals (curry, talatelli, cottage pies ect) 99p per meal.

Will add more when we been shopping again in a few months time and compare the difference

thanks for all the reccomendations on discounted / cheap foods. Unfortunantly I cant add any of these to the front page, as the thread is only focusing on value, smartprice and Basics price, sorry :)

Asda Smartprice pancakes are quite nice, you get 6 in a pack but I've forgotten how much they are.

Last night I did some shopping (all Tesco Value) and got 3 jars of pasta sauce (19p each) 300g of penne pasta (17p) and 4 breaded fish portions (97p). I have tried the pasta and the sauce before they are quite good but I can't tell you about the fish yet.

hi willow92, thanks for the reccomendations, including the fish portions. I have included those in the front page. FYI Busygirl said the pancakes cost 29p, thanks again :)

thanks for the reccomendation charlishae, I have included the garlic bread in the "not worth buying" list on the front of this thread, thanks again :) glad you like the thread

Hello again! Smartprice Coco Pops are really yummy, I think they're 75p a pack. Oh and the Tesco Value fish portions weren't too bad, the batter on them was really tasty but the fish wasn't anything special (I didn't expect it to be at that price...).
