    Quick update:

Jacobs have sent SIX...that's right SIX letter in one day claiming I owe them £42.50 for a bailiff call out on the 5th July.
We have no record of this visit, no card, nothing. They say I need to dispute this in writing. Which I will be doing.
However, is it up to them to prove they sent a bailiff and he followed correct protocol, or is it up to me to prove he never came?

Did the bailiff leave a card? if not, there is no proof he visted.

And by the way, they can only charge £24.50 for the first visit, so this is boolocks.

That is what I thought. No card was found...I have even checked under the mat again today.

The first we knew about bailiff, was the second class post that arrived on the 8th of July :)

    Another update,

Got another let back stating I actually owe £127.50 across three accounts, for two bailiff visits (again I never had one at my door).
They are claiming that if I don't pay I can potentially go to prison...which is bull, I could for a council tax debt, but not for their fees.

I tried to get a number for the ombudsman but they refused and the only one I can get is to contact via writing.

Now my partner is currently in hospital and I haven't got time to get to the library to print a letter and get it sent, so I want to speak to someone to complain. Is there anyone I can go to that would deal with this over the phone initially?
I even threatened the bailiff that they can take me to court if they want, I will not pay these fees as I do not owe them.

    Thanks matey,

Will drop her a PM first, as I won't be able to afford the phone call when the next bill comes in and the last thing I want is to fall into further debt :D

I am at a total loss right now, not sure how much more I can take.

Council are now claiming that even though I paid them direct and it shows a nil balance their end. The Bailiff will send the fees back to them and they will charge me and apply for a commital hearing.

They don't seem to understand that as far as I was aware, I had no bailiff visit and dealt with it on first correspondence from the Bailiff (via second class post). They claim now that because the bailiff can say he has been that is all they need, despite no letter, card or anything through the door.

I told them that I would fight it in court, but they claim it would cost me £240 extra, even if I won the case.

I can't reach anyone on that number at present, but I feel like I am cracking up.
