What version of IE do you have? If it's not[STRIKE] IE9 it might be quicker to try an upgrade to that[/STRIKE], after you've done the malware scans, to see if that will fix the problem.

Edit: OP has XP so IE9 is not compatible.

Right .... onto my OHs lap top now using the portable Firefox app ... Ran the antimalware app and this is the log .... but it looks all OK to me .... ???

When you start IE (and if it stays open long enough), press ALT on your keyboard to bring up the Menu bar at the top (File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, Help).

Select Help then About and it will tell you the IE version.

Just spotted from your HJT log that you have IE8 [STRIKE]so worth trying an upgrade to 9.[/STRIKE]

IGNORE IE9.

I also just noticed you have XP so IE9 won't install/work.

No sign of spyware/malware etc.

Also no need for google toolbar if she sticks with Firefox. If not, you'd have to do searches to see some of the reasons IE behaves as it has for her.

Might be worth turning off Spybot's protections, as they really don't do so much any more (SDHelper, Teatimer). Possible that it might be related to the IE problems. The immunisations are still worthwhile though.
