    2014 will be fabulous.
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • We may have covered this before but I have slept since then! What will you be doing with your new financial freedom? first pay plans? short/long term? Or none yet?

I desperatley will be needing new car, assuming mine keeps going until then! Then I am going to treat my family to a posh holiday that I always look at but can never afford! Also I am going to load the cupboards up as I love to see that :D

  • It occured to me that we could buy our children all the nice, shiny and ultimately useless "stuff" in the world but how much better would it be for them to learn from parents who have financial freedom?

Winnie in Pooh, your comment on your first post has given me my LBM! Thank you ....
I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be
  • And Betty you walked in on us Debt busters having a handbag !!!!!! moment. This is not a daily or weekly occurance, its a rare little beast.

I agree when you first have your LBM, its a fab feeling. You realise whats amiss.... that is the earthquake. What follows is like a tsunami in its wake. There is upheaval and alot of things (takeaway routines etc) are completely destroyed. Even the weekly shop mutates to a collection of scratch cooking materials, instead of containing some prepared stuff.

To get through all the mess, upheaval, emotional turmoil from kids / oh / pets etc you have a steady stream of lightbulbs, just to keep you going. To help you along the way are quotes and support from people who keep blogs on here, (like the lovely Winnie) and you get your ideas in part from them. Get used to the feeling and get reading some of the blogs, its good to feel like you arent alone, and you arent the only one who isnt putting the heating on and instead is getting thermal underwear...

We are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. And while we may never have the gucci handbag stuffed with tenners (or Chloe bag) we will be a damn sight closer than we were today in just a few years.

Ive started a penny jar at work for that handbag, only another 249498 pennies to go..
