They served them on a bun ;)

Either that, or Stirling has freakish mega-McDonalds with hundreds of staff.
yeah, what their post tells us is that they have a high turn over of staff. good places to work dont have a high turn over of staff. of course it is also possible that as the work programme has recently started that most of the people they talk about could be just working for their dole on placement.

True (my first ever job 13 years ago was in McDonalds). That said, 20 full-time staff? I worked in a fairly large restaurant in Glasgow and I don't think we had that many employees.

i am even more convinced now that they are probably just people on work placement from the new work programme.

McDonald's might have a high turn over of staff, but the way I look at it, there isn't enough jobs out there for me to be picky enough right now. Sometimes you just have to suck these things up for a wage.

I have to say though, I've worked in a few catering establishments since the Crunch, and I have never seen a place as busy as that place is. Recession, what Recession?

Hence, why I am moving back down to Newcastle in November!

Actually most are students. Really MacDonald's is perfect for students, flexible shifts in the evening and weekends and full-time work in the vacations.

Then there are three of us are new graduates, one of which is a qualified nurse.

She genuinely has tried all over the place to get part time work but there really isn't anything out there, there is a local McDonalds and 3 large supermarkets etc she has dropped her CV off where they will accept it, I have told her to go back to these places in person every so often and remind them that she is still looking and to keep her 'face' current.

McDonald's [and most of the places I've worked] don't accept CV's. You have to apply via the website.

We have expanded this year and over the last 12 months taken on 3 extra staff (only 19 of us)

2 of them where people who walked through my door and came looking for work -at the time they walked through i wasnt looking but kept their cv's and went back to them when i was.

Third has come from an advert over 100 applications, around 80 didn't get past the e-mail being opened. (wrong job title, wrong name, wanted min 30k... the list goes on). The 20 that did interviewed 4 and any of them could have got it.

its hard out there, but there are jobs about, sitting applying online isn't the only way. sometimes getting out and knocking on doors worked.

i don't always advertise, i don't always have too becasue if a candidate is prepared to cold call me at the office, then they've got some get up and go.

No one over the age of 18 needs too be unemployed.

Go self employed..all you need is a pair of high heels and a short skirt (work for the lads too im told lol).

Hello love you looking for business..is a good opening line and you can then lead on with,My prices are as follows.;)

Hours are good and you get too meet a wide and varied section of your local community...:rotfl:

Even that profession is pretty much finished. Why pay for the services of some disease ridden junkie when you could get the same product from some student down the local student union for the price of a couple of WKDs. All about the money saving.
