I dont know if you have got this sorted yet, if not dial 17070 from the line that is giving dialtone in your property, if it reports a number that isnt your number ( the AVR is something like, this circuit is defined as 01***,******), then its possible that if you have someone elses number, they have yours, call your own number and see if you get an answer, if you do, you could ask them if they have been getting any 'called in error' type calls that were intended for you , have you had any called in errors for the number thats in your property ?, although it doesnt have to be a straight swap, they have your number, you have theirs, it could give more info to your service provider when you report the line ( not broadband) faulty, which is what you need to do...your number (and broadband ) could be in a property whos occupants use broadband a lot more than you, and if you have been told you are over your limit then giving the time lag between billing periods etc, then it must have been like that for a while,
Do you use the line for telephony ?, coz most people would have been aware when freinds/family say 'every time I call you someone I dont know answers', and you would have noticed that everytime the phone rings, its always a wrong number, and whover has your number would be getting the same problem,so two chances of reporting the same fault,
I suppose these days with lots of people only using a landline for broadband and mobiles for telephony, these things can go un-noticed, last point, you moved what from Sky to BT, broadband or line and broadband, because if your line rental was with Sky then were you told you would be keeping the same number when moving to BT,0 -
Am I glad to be with Virgin BB!

You can upgrade to an 80GB download limit for another fiver per month at TalkTalk.
Both Talk Talk and Tiscali are horrible though. I've been with both previously and they throttle things like Iplayer during what they call peak hours. it's ridiculous. I also suffered horrible latency with tiscali in particular.
Changed to Vivaciti who operate on the pretty empty C&W network and everything is perfect.0 -
I would start by asking to talk to somebody in England.. Bts Indian call centre is amongst the worst I have ever dealt with, why would any companies associate themself with such a rubbish call centre?0

Exactly my sentiments Scopey, why choose any service with a call centre in asia. Its just asking for trouble.
