What a shame you waited until a relative 'few minutes' before the plug was pulled on the newspaper to make a stand. One can't help wondering if the earlier conversation you had with staff at the paper contained a hint of a warning of what was to come and advantage was taken of it.
If this was simply a case of poor luck then time and your future actions will perhaps lay to rest the unease that some of us continue to feel.
I genuinely hope that you sleep better tonight than you did last night, because you know that you really did do what you felt was right.

He did not make a stand, he decided to write a column in this Sundays paper with no real commitment to not writing more

I notice he has written another update on his blog and yet another u-turn - perhaps he should take up politics

James Murdoch may have handed over the names of everyone who might have been hacked but did he hand over the names of everyone who might have been responsible?
    God save the King!
I'll save Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, J. M. W. Turner and Alan Turing.

Martin. Oh Dear indeed, forever known to be linked to that paper, even when everyone else had left.

Rupert Murdoch a bigger man? who would have thought? no doubt see you scrambling around The Sun.

Looks like Lewis couldn't see past his own greed to the moral outrage of millions (reference his suggestion things might return to normal in a few weeks re advertisers) and completely misread the situation, and what this says about him.

I have to talk about him in the third person in this post, as I lost some respect over the "I don't like student fees and campaigned against them as union leader, but I can make money out of explaining them", but that is simply nothing compared to the last 24 hours and his attitude over this.
Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?

Okay..he made an error of judgement and maybe should have slept on it a good few days before opening his grid...

    However...
how many people having a go here are going to be shopping at Tesco's in the next few days?

    Martin....
Consider your wrist well and truly slapped

Well given his own article says "have your full say here", I'd suggest that's fine.

    As someone else said:

"Remember that he, literally, asked for it. MSE Towers set up a thread to discuss the rights or wrongs of Martin's Blog where he said he was continuing to write for the NOTW. I think it was the strength of feeling on that thread (and others) that genuinely took him by surprise as the story unfolded through the day."

I think you should have nothing further to do with the NOTW. This is a chance to rid UK journalism of the stranglehold of Murdoch's media.
Doesn't Murdoch already own more than just NOTW?

Also, Sky's a monopoly, as is Virgin Media, which is technically illegal, but they got round that on a technicality (rescuing British Satellite Broadcating, BSB, which is why Sky's also known as BSkyB).

Poor old Martin. His heels must be worn right through with all this backtracking he's done.
