Tesco value products (temporarily on silly prices!)

I don't know if it's a mistake, but on the Tesco site VALUE list ..Low fat Yogurt 4x125 is 29p,
and a 500g tub is 55p.0 -
In Tesco today - not tesco value but mermaid bay tuna chunks in sunflower oil, 185g tin, bb Dec 2015; SEL 19p and going through at that price. Tesco online price is 64p. Says dolphin friendly on the tin and have eaten some, it's pretty ok taste-wise with pretty decent sized chunks of fish and less than half of the price of the value tuna.0

Would love to find tuna at this price in brine, as I am feeding my chickens tuna every few days to help them keep their protein levels up during their moulting!0

I'm trying to track down the cheapest protein under £3 kg. Lots of fish with batter. Lots of meat with fat .
Plainest so far is Cottage cheese £1.90 kg and the Low Fat yogurt 58p kg.
Of the rest, including unusable bones fat skin etc is whole fresh chicken at £2.29kg
Ditto with sausages at £1 kg. Cooking bacon at £1.50. Still researching.
Plain white fish Sainsbury basic is £3.85.0 -
Not knowing ANYTHING about chickens, why can't they eat the sunflower oil one? Thanks.
They aren't supposed to eat tuna really as
you are not technically allowed to feed chickens kitchen scraps etc but it does them no harm and is a great source of protein. I rinse the tuna in brine to get rid of the salt, but rinsing the oil one isn't very effective, and they shouldn't eat oily/high fat content food.
So tuna in brine is much better ( or tuna cat food!)0 -
Maybe you could wash the oil tuna in washing up liquid!!!!0

I noticed today that the Tesc0 Pasta Sauce has gone back down to 18p per jar. It was at 18p, then went up to 39p and now back down, so grab some before they shoot back up again. (soz if it has already been mentioned)0

I just came across this site to look at value products. It doesn't look up to date but good for me as I can't see all value products on my T grocery site due to them not stocking things. Anyway it's a good reference point for benchmark prices to compare against to see if things have been reduced.

Don't know why but the link wont work. Its comparesupermarketprices .co. uk then type value in the search box. No need to join, I haven't.0 -
Well I like this thread because, as well as highlighting offers we have been giving and receiving opinions on them as well.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0
