Car dented in car park

haha...
but the general idea is that somebody who reverses into a parking spot has the sense to realise it's a lot harder to reverse out than to reverse in, especially with limited visibility..... so if they have that extra bit of sense, they'll be a bit more careful with their doors.0 -

Unless they drove through to the space from the other side
Which I have to say, proves to me that despite their protests, many front end first parker's do so because they have low driving confidence and are scared sh1tless of reversing.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I remember having an argument with someone who does that. Very busy tesco car park and I reversed into a free space and someone drove forwards into the space behind me in a big Chelsea tractor, got out and started yelling at me to get the **** out of her space.
Turned out she'd been driving around that car park for about 20 minutes looking for two free spaces opposite each other.
I suggested that she could either learn to drive or she could wait 5 minutes to take my space as I was only going for a loaf of bread anyway. She chose the latter option.0 -

he's got a dent in his door and he's buying a new door for it / having it removed. There is no need to tell your insurance company unless you're a complete !!!!!!! who enjoys wasting money.
Do you know, even before I posted it I hesitated and just knew that you would raise your head above the parapet.
What I posted is correct.
Don't try your bully boy tactics with me pet, you have no right to tell people what and what not to post.
I dread to think how many people get their insurance invalidated because of your ignorance.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I've never understood at what point you should contact your insurance company though. What if you clip a kerb or a sparrow flies into your windscreen?
To be honest I would only notify my insurance company if I had to involve them in the claim in some way. I don't really see why I need to inform them based on their rules purely so they can increase my premium. Let's be honest here there is no other reason.
Unless you report the accident there is really no way they'll find out about it either.0 -
Basically, if you don't tell then and a claim arises, they "could" invalidate your insurance.
If you have nobody to claim from and it's a minor damage, then telling them will do nothing but hike your premiums.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

it's not bully boy tactics
somebody puts a dent into the OP's car and then drives off. The op then goes to the body shop to have it pulled out.
At which point is anything going to invalidate his insurance? is it
A: - the fact nobody is claiming on his insurance
B: - there's no need for the insurance to know
C: - there's no third party involved that could inform their insurance
All you're doing is scaremongering because you read in your policy that you must tell them. what if the OP did the damage himself on a lamp post? would you still need to tell them?0 -

Lol, I'm female and can assure you I reverse into spots, one of my pet hates is people who park at weird angles
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together.

Exactly the point I was making earlier.
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0
