Not selling at the moment ... falling dsr's!

Do you have time before your op to list 5 items & hopefully sell them all, could anyone else post them quickly for you?0

I certainly mark down on dispatch if an item takes a week or longer to get to me
Oh. Dear.
Do you know what the definition of dispatch is? Its when you send something, not when it arrives. So according to you, if I say I will dispatch in 2 days and I dispatch in that 2 days but it takes a week to arrive which is out of my hands once its been sent, I'd get low DSR rating when I have sent it when I said I would?

I think that seems to be a common misconception unfortunately. People rate you on the length of time delivery takes rather than despatch time.0 -
(from ludovico - my Quote button has disappeared)
"Officially eBay will only remove low DSRs if they are left in error, if you have a comment stating how wonderful everything was accompanied by low DSRs then eBay can assume it was an error and will remove the feedback."
Or not. I encountered 3 buyers in one week, all paying only the actual postage cost, all items bubble-wrapped then boxed, all leaving glowing FB, and all leaving 1 or 2 stars on p&p.
3 encounters with ebay staff, all with different responses, including an email saying how right I was and that they were in the middle of addressing the problem of buyer education re DSRs. That was in January, and they did nothing.
My dashboard improved with the addition of international sales in May.0 -

This example isn't a mistake, your customers weren't happy with the P&P costs. I know it may not be fair but eBay isn't dealing with fair just buyer perception, regardless of how right or wrong it is. What I mean is if they say everything was wonderful and then leave four lows eBay will accept this as a mistake.

People may do but that doesn't make it right, anyone doing so should be educated. The seller has no control over Royal Mail so anyone who marks down for a delayed parcel is basically saying they were unhappy with a random event that could happen to any parcel from any place. If that is a disappoint to you, don't shop online! In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -

I did not say it was right, merely pointing out that it is a common misconception.
Or that it is how I mark it.
How many buyers read how to leave DSR's?
This is from ebay help on how to rate the despatch.
How quickly did the seller dispatch the item?
Rate the seller on the time it took to mail the item, not the time it took you to receive the item
Don’t hold sellers responsible for delays in mail services, international custom delays or for the time it takes for your payment to clear. If the item is for local pick up you won't be able to specify this rating
It needs to be flagged up at the point people rate not somewhere hidden.0 -
Ebay aren't contradicting themselves you're reading what you want with that statement. The important word is 'could'.
Ahh the infamous community boards conspracy theory. You do know the moon landings were faked as well
Rather than looking for conspiracies sellers should remember who is marking them down. Their customers obviously if your DSRs are taking a dive your customers arent happy so you need to look at why. If you state 2 day disptach are you actually dispatching in that time. Check it all out your time is better off doing that that thinking about lots of imagined conspracies.
Oliver 'nothing better to do than follow techspec' 14:-
I state 5 day dispatch and post same day if paid before 4.40pm and next day if not. So how is that slow?
Ebay statement "We proactively look for Feedback abuse and take action against it. For example, eBay investigates buyers who leave positive Feedback but low Detailed Seller Ratings.". No shudda, cudda, wudda - thats what they say.
I recieved 2's from somone who was charged cost price postage and recieved their parcel 2 days after paying. Not conspiracy - fact!!
Anyone with a brain knows ebay are trying to drive down postage to increase fees. As i said though - anyone with a brain.0 -

Exactly - if you offer 2nd and 1st class - they always choose 2nd and then mark you down on dispatch cos it took too long.
Like you - i have noticed a lot of people on here ecouranging buyers to leave negs and low dsr's. The fact these people are also sellers, makes it obvious they are just happy seeing everyone elses dsr's trashed - so they climb up the search.
The simple fact is there are vindictive people out there, who will never be happy - and sellers trashing other sellers freedback.
There is a solution ragarding dispatch - if people pay for postage within 2 days via paypal - block a low dsr - like they do with p&p.
Also, if ebay think low dsr's should only be left with a neutral or neg - block the 1 and 2 for a positive. It aint rocket science for the intelligent amongst us.0 -
I'm not sure about the free weekend listings, etc., though come to think of it, I've had no emails from them re. this, so I'm probably excluded.
As I'm having an op. soon, it will be very difficult to list things/get them in the post, etc., but I've told ebay all this. Maybe I'll try Live Chat and see if I get anywhere.
If your a private seller and below standard - you are blocked from free listing weekends.0 -

When people are advised on here to leave low dsr's, neg or neutral FB it is because the seller hasn't put right something that they have been given the opportunity to do.
None of us, who post regularly would advise to go straight for trashing someones FB or DSR's.
That would be counterproductive, the less sellers, the less choice, ultimately less buyers.
If ebay blocked 1 & 2 dsr's with +FB, then buyers would leave a neg.
My only low star, was purely because I wasn't happy with the extra postage charged on an item, the seller didn't offer a partial as I would have done, (before the buyer contacted me), wasn't rude but pointed out how much selling & going to the PO costs & that she added that to the postage costs.
I was charged almost £12 for £4.41 postage, so I marked her down for that but I was happy with the item so left + FB & marked down just the p&p costs.0
