Appalling customer service IMO, you must be in a heightened state of anxiety at the moment with £2000 gone, that certainly isn't chump change. I hope you get your refund, best of luck and hopefully someone will be along soon with the answer.
PS: You said you paid by PayPal, if it's still within the 45-day limit then can't you make PayPal claim as "goods not described"? Or speak to your bank and do a credit card chargeback? That might be a last resort though as I think I read ages ago that PayPal get !!!!ed off if you do that.0 -
Thanks for the response, it is like talking to a brick wall. Cant find an email address of any Managers, Directors or even the current CEO. It was paid by PayPal, and I am pretty sure that you cannot dispute electronic downloads, not sure though.0

Well, I would certainly try.
The other option is to write a Letter Before Action and if they fail to respond to that then think about taking them to the Smalls Claims Court. But this would need to be thought about before actually following through.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
Thanks I am going to give them to close of play tomorrow, if by then I have not heard anything, I will file with PayPal, along with a letter before action, so thanks for the advice.0

Letter of intent sent, they now have 6 days. It has took me 2 days to find out who has taken over my case, and all I got after 3 emails was "sorry we have been busy, my college Tracy will be in touch soon". So my next question was, and what position does she hold, still waiting. Glad I am not holding my breath lol0

Oh and still no response from the States0

Personally I think you are being al little bit naive to think that the course was going to be as easy as you would like to think. The example you have posted are commands used to turn features on, off and difficulty settings in game etc, the course would tell you where to use these commands and when. It is a learning course, so of course you are not going to get it right away. The course takes 4 years to complete, 4 years, did you really think it was going to be easy.
Other parts of the course are going to teach you how to use C++ programming, this would help explain things better, but you will have to learn, which is what the course is all about.
The other courses you are wanting to swap too are just as difficult, so you would face a similar problem with them. I think you will need to take this all the way as I can see why they will not refund or swap the course for you.0 -
Bris, as for you saying that I would struggle on the other courses, well, I have done web design before so I have prior experience on them. As for for saying it is learning, rubbish, it is a course that is mis-represented. if you have no experience in programming but from what you have said, I can only assume you do, let me send the lesson 1, and then tell me that i am naive.0

You might be giving too much attention to lesson 1...
Have you seen other lessons?
Even at a proper Uni they throw you in the deep end sometimes to start with, and then things make sense as the course goes on.
I don't think you can be sure the course is misdescribed after just one lesson.
As for wanting to change courses to a better one that appears more suited to you... well maybe you should have gone for that one in the first place if you had an interest in web design, although to be fair you can teach yourself web design with the aid of the internet and some ebooks quite easily.0 -

My main point was that you can not make a valid case for a refund for a 500 hour course in ten minutes. How do you expect to pass a course when you wont even give it a try or look at the other parts to it.
Buyers remorse spring to mind, the course is long and you are looking for a way out.
If you have done web design in the past then you are not as green as you make out.0
