Hi bob - great news on the debt & holibobs too :)

With a 0% deal anything is possible - it makes such a huge difference psychologically to know that every single penny paid to the debt, is actually clearing the debt, the whole debt, & nothing but the debt. Very motivating to have deadline to work towards too.

Maybe mr bob will suddenly become super motivated now :D

That's so nice of you to say so- and hope your cold is terminated soon GJ- best wishes to the missus and mini GJ's:D

Might pick your techie brain tho, as DD2's laptop keeps turning itself off. I have downloaded stuff for her as rec on techie board- any other advice?:D

    Bob x

best wishes cordially passed on and reciprocated :)

as for the lappy, if it keeps cutting off, sounds like either:-

    1. it's overheating. Lots of use on bed/cushion/carpet/etc. ? The furry slug has probably lodged itself within the fan enclosure, so will need to remove it. Start by hoovering all the vents, then take the back cover off that sits over the fan, and the top part of the fan housing. Remove all built-up dust and fluff (can of air duster is great about here) and put back together.

    or

    2. it's a power/battery/not charging issue. Does it charge the battery ok on mains? what does the battery meter show?

Then, always run it on a hard surface (like a large book or similar, so less dust gets sucked in). Try this first, and let me know how it does. Further advice will follow if needed :)

I shall take heart - got a lot of similar chores to do. Have taken Monday off to make a start on them.

Tax self assessment. Crystallise ongoing argument with builder - tell him to f**k off or get him to do the outstanding work - claim back some premium bond cheques that went astray, reclaim NI contributions for my Mrs - sort out DS1 and DD2 with new phones (cheap as chips), get lawnmower back from its service and reclaim the garden. Organise loads of bric a brac for ebay/car boot. Complete back up/update of all computers

Edit: Don't forget new tyres for the car, explore costco (if it would save or cost), take back DS2 closk radio, put up curtain pole, monthly bank account double check, do OH tax as well,

May take more than Monday but gotta start somewhere. May sound a lot but OH has got an even bigger list
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

I never thought about Costco for tyres Mark- notes down idea. :D

For phones try Tesco mobile or buy a sim for existing phones- and don't forget quidco.

    Good luck:D

  • The weekend was interesting and a bit expensive. As you know, i cancelled the Groupon deal and instead i spent the money on days out.

Bargain hunting :) Lovely top and brand new hiking boots for £7 off car boot, nice coat for DD off car boot and a tv/dvd combi £5 for the two..:money::money:

Harry Potter film- Thoroughly enjoyed and meal out after -we were at Bolton Reebok centre and in the restaurant Tyrone from Corrie came in- I so hobnob in the good places at times. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That came to a bit of dosh, but this was money we were going to use, and i thought i don't often splash out and it made a nice change- food was good as was the service. I had to sit opposite Mr.B but you can't have everything  For once though, he contributed so that made an even nicer change.:money:

Money has been covered by extra tuition today- i couldn't turn it down as it was very lucrative.:money:

Have been given a green house so all is good in Bob's little corner of the planet.
