It was actually a general question (which i possibly worded slightly wrong!)..

My daughter is at a private nursery and we pay nearly 600 a month for the priveledge, and the question was as "fluffnutter" said, was a general "shouldnt lunch be provided for the school trip!" as we are paying for the trip and it includes a morning and afternoon snack which she gets when she is in nursery, so i would have thought that they should provide a packed lunch for the kids (i dont object (and would never ever not let my daughter go on a trip, or anything else, we basically give her everything we can and will gladly put my daughter a packed lunch for the trip - which she is looking forward to (but as some posters have put,, she wont be having a sandwich, packet of crisps and a chocolate bar! she wiill be having a sandwich, a sugar free drink and a piece of fruit of her choice - shes quite good in that she doesnt really bother about eating lots of chocolate and sugary things - she doesnt really bother that much about crisps either).

Is it me, or does any1 else think that this is wrong, basically my 3yr old daughter is going on a school trip (cost £13 includes coach there and back (obviously), morning and afternoon snack. We have to provide a packed lunch for her - i would have thought that nursery should provide a packed lunch for her as we are paying for them to look after her - or am i being petty in thinking that if she wasnt going on this trip they would have to provide her with a lunch....

    Comments appreciated.

So you begrudge providing a packed lunch for your daughter?

    Jesus.

The listing of what was in the packed lunch was just an example of what can be put into a packed lunch. It wasn't prescriptive, just examples. HTH.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Well then presumably you wouldn't send your child.

Others think it's not too young and do send their children.

Obviously I would not send my child at so young an age and yes, it is up to the parents. I was giving MY opinion! I do not agree with school trips. They can cause immense problems for those parents who cannot afford for their child to go and a lot of the trips are pointless.

I think you need to loosen the purse strings a bit.

if you are complaining now wait until they get to school, some weeks it cost us £30 to £40 just to send our two to school, with dinners, afterschool activities, trips, sponsered walks, dress down friday which a couple of terms ago they made every Friday, heathly tuck shops, oh non heathly tuck shops the list goes on and on.
