It still pays to shop around. I was looking for quite a large kitchen a few years back. MFI did all the nice plans for me and with their 70% discount it all came to £4800. I went to a local retailer and got a better kitchen based on the same plans for £1850.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

I just bought a bed from MFI that was £1300 just before Christmas. We paid just under £600 for it with clubcard deals so for us it has been and excellent deal. It gets delivered next week.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Saving up our Tesco vouchers for a new sofa. - Red Leather! And keeping my eye on 2 different ones.
They were both £1000 in the sale.
Today, they are £999.99 each!!!!0 -
I am going to buy a smeg range cooker from them putting clubcard tokens towards it. I haven't exchanged the tokens yet so I phoned MFI and they said no problem I can put down a deposit now (ie - in the sale) and pay the balance in a couple of weeks.
I actually went into the store yesterday to do this, but as soon as I got in the door the girl said "our sale ends today but it might be extended, we won't know until tonight". So I decided to hang out, on the basis that I feel more comfortable having the vouchers back from Tesco before commiting to the purchase. I wasn't surprised (though relieved!) to see the sale has been extended.
Is it at all likely they will reduce prices even more??0 -
ScoobyZ wrote:they will extend the offer or move to vat free. The Sale goes on until march. Then it stops for a couple of weeks and restarts in the easter.
Told you so.
They may extend again or go 20% off plus an extra 5% they did this last year to give 25% off. Or move to the vat free offer next.0 -

I posted this earlier:
"If you moan about the delivery price and say you will collect from store rather than pay delivery.(obviously you wont but helps them to remove the £30-£60)"
I'd ask for the £20 back0 -
They tried to charge me an extra £10 delivery because the fitting charge took my bedroom into the next price band!!! £10 for delivering the fitting charge - I don't think so!!0

"That would be £998 in the sale"
my husband said

"oh thats something else not what you want"
"ok give us a minute because my wife's not sure about the colour"
Salesman walks off
"i do want it"
"Just hold on"
he says calls another salesman over,
"This 3 seater and 2 seater offer are they the same items as these two"
"Yes its another offer you can purchase both seaters for £699 "
"Thanks we will take them"

Hi DH and I are planning on getting some Faraday schreiber bedroom furniture approx £900 to spend, now does anyone know if they will drop there prices any lower, or do you think if I went in store I could get it any lower or do you think they will just laugh, also the delivery charge is £40 I think, can I say I would pick up from store rather than pay that I will be paying in Mr T Vouchers, I know not to mention that untill they stick out there hand for the money, do you think its wise if they ask before the deal has been finalised if they just ask "how would madam like to pay" I should turn around and say "c$sh " and later on when they look at the voucher say " I thought vouchers were as good as cash" any help or sucess stories greatfully recieved
