I bought a bed and mattress combination, including the Silentnight Miracoil Splendour mattress above (Kingsize) with Kingsize "Minori" bed. I thought I was getting a great deal as it should have been about £2,200 (ridiculous price!) for the lot and I paid £660 with 70% off
But after reading this thread, I'm now not so sure the deal I got was very good; it was a spur of the moment thing (normally I do lots of research!)
So...should I rethink and cancel and go to mattressman etc. Or have I got a good deal?
Also, is my mattress a really good one - I assumed it was as their full price is £1310 for the mattress, but now, I'm starting to wonder.
Thanks
Wherever you buy your mattress from, stay away from that brand if you want it to last.0 -

Apparently MK store are only letting a few people in at a time as the staff have been getting abuse from Customers!
Oh and yes - all stores closing down are currently selling off their displays at 70%, I am told. Still overpriced at 70% mind...0 -
Last time I was in MFI (before they bit the bullet) everything seemed very overpriced. So 70% off will probably make everything normal.
And agreed about Silentnight mattresses. Very nice and comfy.. for about 6 months.0 -
i have had a silent night mattress for approx 7 years now and it is still as comfy now as it was then.:j
We drop past our local MFI today and they were closed between 1-30pm and 2-30 pm for lunch and when we came out of Tesco at approx 2-25, there was approx 50 people queing in the rain!!!!relynutz says it all0 -

Watford MFI was advertising 80% off display stock. Went there just before 1pm yesterday and there was a small crowd of people outside, a few customers inside and locked doors. It seemed as though they were operating the a few in, a few out policy.
We waited a while, someone said they would let people in at 1pm, but at that time, a guy came to the door and said they wouldn't be letting anyone in until at least 2pm. But they weren't letting anyone OUT either (the people in there all seemed to be on their mobiles, looking rather worried.)!!!!!
We gave up and came away, it was too long to hang about in the cold and we didn't fancy getting held against our will if a quick look showed there was nothing we needed (which i suspect would be the case, it looked quite bare.)
Odd selling policy, and not worth the hassle, IMHO.0 -
Thank god MFI went bust (harsh it sounds) - but with the attuide of over price stock it wasn't long before they did.
Take this today. Manilla Walnut Wardrobe with side drawer - damaged runners which can be repaired and needs new inner parts for the wardrobe. Think it was something like £600-700 in "sale" prices. They wanted £550 for the display. I said to them its bloody cheaper on eBay to get this over priced stuff and walked out. The gits.. if you can not offer a bargin deal then you lose as simple as that.
Also noticed... kitchens still selling for £1.5k! and mattress's on the floor for £400 a throw. Cookers still £300 odd.. its no wonder why they gone bust.
