Cherryade i did not say physical abuse. I mentioned financial abuse. That is a different thing altogether.
Your partner doesnt have to hit you for it to be abuse.
He is already getting arsy with you on the phone and trying to twist it to make it seem like you are the one being unreasonable. These sound like the beginnings of emotional and financial abuse to me.
If i were you i would be doing what the other poster said and contacting the cousin. Gently explain the predicament that lending him money has caused. I bet you will find he knows NOTHING.

The same ex i mentioned earlier in this thread swore blind to me that he had contents insurance (in the flat he had already been living in for seven years.) He said the insurance man came round to his sisters place and he gave her the money to pay him. At a family barbecue i met said sister and said to her "Im sorry the insurance man keeps coming round yours. It must be a right pain so we will sort out a better way of doing things." Guess what..... she didnt know what i was talking about. He had lied to me.
So if i had moved in with him and my stuff had got nicked i wouldnt have been covered.
So you see dirtysexymonkey in a lot of cases it IS a partners business when they are in a relationship whether they are living together or not. In my case it certainly would have been too late if i had moved in with him.
