Avoid BEKO, and anything chinese, hotpoint are now owned by Indesit.
if you can afford it Miele, then Bosch, Zannusi, Hoover built in UK.

I dont think anyone does those any more :( They were replaced by the ones with a digital input...

My Bosch washing machine has a digital input - you select a pre-programmed programme but can then play around with the elements such as temp and spin speed.

If you're anywhere near the Surrey freecycle area lots of American fridge freezers come up - you'd need a man with a van to move them though.

As regards Hotpoint firdge freezers, avoid the FF4DX -looks smart, wiring tends to go bang just after the year's warranty expires.

Bosch and Siemens come from the same manufacturer, who also include the Neff brand in their portfolio. Bosch is considered as the low to mid-range products, Neff are usually built-in appliances and Siemens the higher-end range.

Liebherr make Miele and they are both thought of as flagship products, outdoing even Siemens.

I've had various appliances from different manufacturers and it really comes down to personal preference, budget and possibly a bit of luck. I have a Bosch dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. Neff oven and hob. Miele vacuum cleaner. But also a Hotpoint fridge/freezer that is still going strong after 12 years, three house moves, being switched on and off several hundred times and now standing in my 40C conservatory
