A company I'd never go near again. Same mob as laptopsdirect.co.uk.

I'd just found out that laptops direct had an identical site to this while trying to find some reviews on this laptop..... So you don't think its a good idea to use them then?? Only the vista upgrade was tempting me there, Tesco doesn't seem to be offering that...

(now all I need to do is figure out how hard it would be to use a laptop and my desktop together for broadband, wifi or something...)

You can upgrade to Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit for free with this laptop however they charge £14.14 for postage !!! So not exactly free....

My laptop's given up so I've spent the last few hours researching a new laptop and came across the one mentioned on tesco direct. Found this thread and am relieved to hear of its good reviews - so I've purchased it!...500 extra clubcard points are still available for customers purchasing this laptop (expires 31/12) at https://www.hotukdeals.com . I received 874 clubcard points for my purchase alongside my quidco cashback  .

With regards to the Vista upgrade, does anyone know where the specific details are to the £14.14 payment mentioned?...just wondered whether those details came with the laptop or perhaps there is a page online that I've missed. Thanks

I paid £12-90 for my vista upgrade - only the 32 bit version mind - which i queried but Home Premium - it is done through an internet site where you order it and need a credit card to order - mines an HP but assume its the same company

This laptop is £349 inc VAT on the acer website. Cheaper than Tesco
  • What's the Acer website because acer.co.uk don't sell direct?

  • The Vista upgrades, are they like when Windows 95 came out with a full & upgrade version?

With the upgrade version you had to install windows 98 first, then the update.
