Yes i had an Acer and support sucked big time, tried to phone umpteen times and never got through to anybody, emails never answered i eventually bought the part myself

Admittedly a few years ago, but same here - my Acer Laptop sucked and pooor support - the then claims on battery life didnt match to reality. Definately wouldn't risk another - sooooooo when I got rid - it left me with nothing but bad memories.

I know most people tend to look for the gimmick of a super large screen 15.4" or 17" but in a laptop that you want to carry round with you 14"'s what you really want !!

Agree with everything but this statement. 14" is better for portability if the bezel is small. But the bezel is so big on this it could be a 15.4" without increasing weight/size. Also if you want portability you want battery life... not that impressive on this.

You can upgrade to Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit for free with this laptop however they charge £14.14 for postage !!! So not exactly free....

mrm3: Personal opinion, a bigger screen would make the laptop heavier, empty space inside the screen bezel adds no weight lol. The bezel is the size that it is so that it meets the edges of the base section which is filled by the keyboard

Also 2.5 hours is around normal for any laptop unless you buy an optional large capacity battery.
