Xmas Sale Laptop Purchase

Have agreed to get the Missus a Laptop for a combined Birthday and Christmas present. My only stipulation was that rather than have the rush of xmas shopping buying, I'd get it for a better price in the xmas sales. I don't really care what brand it is I am just looking for at least 1GB of RAM and at least a 60GB Hard Drive. It will be used for mainly internet and also I intend to play Championship Manager 7 on it too....but she doesnt know that yet! Anyone got any ideas on where will be best....I like the Compaq Presario C300EA at Currys/Dixon/PC World but its £449.99 would rather it be £349!!! :T

Thanks for that. Have noticed Dell are doing some deals on their Inspiron range and I am tempted due to the quality of them. Saying that the Presario C310 with 10% discount code at Curry's for £404 is still very tempting!0

Best deal I have found for a Laptop with big H/D and good graphics memory (nearly all sub £550 laptops only have 128mb of Graphics Memory) is on the following link:
http://www.shopacer.co.uk/pp/Acer_Aspire_Laptops/Acer_Aspire_5100_Series/Aspire_5103WLMi_-_2.html
Would still like to get it cheaper though!0 -

After much deliberation and speaking to shopacer direct (con merchants!) think i will go with the following: http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-8758.aspx
Anyone got any advice or codes to get money off (I only have a temporary Clubcard). If not does anyone know any stores in near the West Midlands that have them in stock.0 -

i'm thinking about getting a laptop in the sales so great thread - thanks!
doesn't seem to be much on there rigth now, but there's a sticky on the Discount Codes 'n Vouchers (online & offline) board where lots of tesco codes go up. worth checking there to see if there's anything
(although 549 points is £20 in clubcard deals vouchers, so goes a long way to dinner for 2 if that helps at all!):happyhear0
