Hey guys! :hello:
Miggy not at all i'm here for the help
i had noted the large portion of expenses to salary ratio. The plan is i have 800 savings which was going to be transferred to loan that i MIGHT have to dip into if really need be. This is a worst case scenario. I feel sick at the thought of touching it as its like i'm still going in reverse? But don't want to increase the credit card further...catch 22...and can't keep borrowing off people...
I'm also (secretly hoping) that the OH will put the holiday on his cc until next pay day (when i should be free and clear of any potential black hole!) He's one of those really annoying people who actually clear their credit cards within a month. DAM YOU SENSIBLE PEOPLE!!! :rotfl:
Erm what else...hotel bill should be around next pay day. (As i've switched to monthly not entirely sure when the official monthly paydate is. Will find that out tomorrow! I think its like second last working day of the month?).
Thats is the major things so i'm HOPING i'll be okay as aside from hen and girls weekend i have nothing major.
Dog is a wee terrier! Ohh bless him. Stubborn wee *BEEP* but thankfully when it comes to a test of wills and stubbornness i will always win HANDS DOWN! :T
THE SIT UPS SOUNDS LIKE A BRILLIANT IDEA BUTTI! No matter what i do in the gym im going to do them at home at night. Sitting in front of the tv! Will keep you posted on the weight loss! Just had a last supper of salt and vinegar kettle chips and a toffee sundae AND some cheesecake...well if im going to splurge... although thats probably another 10,000 sit ups for the sundae alone! Totally worth it though...

Ulp! Have we finally achieved cult status? :rotfl:
We're a group of people who got together around this thread, later this thread... to support Mike whose life was being ruined by a builder who left his house with gaping walls, took all his money and did a runner. There is a very happy ending to the story though and a lot of the 'Mob' are having an anniversary (sort of) get together this weekend.Miggy

If you have it in cash and you're transferring from one pot to another, and in doing so you aren't going to get into debt, then that's do-able. I do hope you won't have to dip into it. I was going to ask if you can get any extra hours at work, but by the sound of it you've been working hard and need a break from it, hence the holiday.Bad_Weather wrote: »The boyf and I were going to book our holiday this week, a wee cheeky week after my sisters holiday. Not sure where yet we were going to check out some deals, budget is 400-600 and looking for somewhere AWESOME and all inclusive. Things have been REALLY crazy for us both recently with work where we literally haven't stopped so really looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend
You're doing right in having a budget for this and hopefully you will find somewhere fab on last-minute rates. It's worth asking yourself what you both need from this holiday? Sun? Luxury? Complete time out? Is the 'all inclusive' going to ruin your diet?! If you can identify what really matters to you, you may be able to cut costs and not sabotage yourself at the same time.Bad_Weather wrote: »I'm also (secretly hoping) that the OH will put the holiday on his cc until next pay day (when i should be free and clear of any potential black hole!) Ummm... this is why you have debt and extra weight. You feel you 'deserve' the treats now, and you'll pay for it tomorrow. However, 'tomorrow' never really comes; the big changes are planned but I don't think you have really started them to the extent you need to. It's only when you make changes now, today, that they take effect.

My god Miggy you are good.
If only i had a friend like you in my life! Mines are more...buy the dress your only young once...just have some cake....
Went to gym last week and signed up for a programme with one of the instructors. Worked pretty hard Tues to Friday. If i didn't go in the mornings i went at night. Was exhausted by Friday night. Relaxed and at a bit at the weekend and back on it this morning. Get weighed on Wednesday so will see and update if i've lost any weight. Feeling more toned but not sure if i've lost any!
I don't have the overtime option, not how my job works unfortunately. Salary basis only!
Think the OH will put the hol on his CC he knows things have been tight with the wedding recently. Got the money out for my sisters wedding so going to give that to them this week. So far so good. Had to buy a house warming gift that i forgot about though. So that was me 40 bucks out. Not good but it was overdue.
Think thats about it! x0 -

Awww...
I am so glad you didn't take it the wrong way!
I thought maybe you'd never speak to me again.

I think this is what we tell ourselves, and having friends do the same makes it even harder to resist. I have to work really hard (and not always successfully) at telling myself that 'treats', in particular food treats, are 'false friends'. To my face they say one thing, behind my back they are harming me. They say 'just one won't hurt', 'it will make me feel better', even 'so it won't be there to tempt me'! I try to reply 'it's calories, it will make me fat'!
Clothes tell me 'it's just a tee shirt', 'it will be useful for work' etc. And so on...Went to gym last week and signed up for a programme with one of the instructors. :T :T :T
Well done you! I wish I was this disciplined. I worked really hard last year, got toned up and lost weight... along came a crisis and I fell off the wagon. Ah well. And I've just lent my copy of 'The Shred' to someone!
I hope the weigh-in is encouraging.Think the OH will put the hol on his CC he knows things have been tight with the wedding recently. Good for OH.
That will make things easier. And at least the house-warming present is out of the way now. You've just reminded me I need to get a present for someone, I meant to go into Lakeland today but forgot all about it.
Keep up the good work!Miggy

Long delay but the guilt has made me make sure i came back. I hate it the day before payday when you feel totally helpless?
Well i survived. August and September I have had SO much on and so many outgoings it was all about survival. I've survived. Just. But also been stupid along the way...
Still got so much going on but hopefully things will wind down at the end of October. Will try to keep everything as cheap as possible. :money:
So my current bank account is £48 and i get paid tomorrow AND I have £65 cash in my purse. :j
I withdrew my full 900 savings to cover the last 2 months. So £400 will be getting paid back to the family loan and approx £300 to my credit card. Hopefully i'd like this to be 500. But will need to wait and see.
Have some large outgoings. I have a wedding down south at end of October and and going to London aswell.
Our cooker is bust so need £150 for that and have another surprise £150 bill. Otherwise i was originally planning on paying 600 to my credit card. :money:
I've never really been a lunch person. I've always just bought lunch... It's just i'm so unorganised. But going to start bringing snacks and lunch to work. I figure even if i do it 4 times a week thats a good save. :money:
Also going back to the old classic of not taking my bank card/cash with me when i defo have my lunch to ensure that i don't spend anymore! :money:
Me and the OH are opening a joint bank account. Just to make things more organised and fair re expenses. This will hopefully reduce my weekly food costs. I spend ALOT. Need to try and curb that or at least use the food for lunches!!!
Now my bad bits. I went to primark and spent £60 bucks on winter clothing, a jacket, cardies, and jumpers.
This has broke my no clothes vow. But i'm not just saying this...I didn't want WINTER clothes...I NEEDED winter clothes.
No toiletries vow has worked. Except for holiday purchases i
I've stuck to it. Will use up the remainder of toiletries. Kind of want rid of them all by Christmas but i don't think that will happen. I have so much make up so i think it will be December 2012 before thats done. Seriously. :rotfl:
Erm thats about it. Hopefully thats it for just now... will keep up-to-date more on spends and budgets going forward as it has became my MISSION.
