Sorry got sidetracked by Miggys weight loss!
Today got rest of mates present! I'm well chuffed! Total cost should have been £27.50 and i got it for a grand total of £13.75! Was more than i was actually going to spend was looking to spend £8.75 (in sale cost should have been £17.50) but then i saw another wee thing in sale at the till and bought it! Either way i've got a really really good present for her for still about £10 less than i would usually spend! Thats what forward planning does! x0 -
Also bought part of my mates wedding present! Just going to order the rest online and thats another thing done! I'm so proud of being so organised! x0
-
A couple of more hours of internet shopping and i've also got my other mates b.day! A necklace and a bracelet!
The trick was to find something on one site in the sale that i liked and then google it (and google more) and 9/10 times it's on another site cheaper! Takes hours to find something that i liked that was actually in stock though! x0 -
Oh dear now I feel as though I'm under false pretences!

I wish I had lost weight but actually I started with 1.5 stone to go not 2 stone.
Will think how I can rejig my signature so it tells the truth!
Well done on successful pressie buying. I spotted something for DS today but now I have to see if I can save the postage by getting it locally.Miggy

Sorry Miggy! Look what i have done to your signature!
I was being stupid change it back!
Paid £700 to family loan today leaving me £489 to last rest of month. With £85 to come off for cc still and £11 gym membership, £50 to food allowance aaaannnd erm think there is something else but can't think what!
So since I have NOTHING planned that should actually be enough! Being that i have purchased mates wedding present, and birthday present, paid £100 to hen weekend, and paid to cc!
I WAS going to keep transferring to hen weekend account but - cheap alert - i'm starting to think that if there is only pennies or £'s left in the account then we likely won't get them back (who's going to dish out £1 to 10 girls. And well rather in my pocket than theirs, that could be my coffee at the airport! SO just incase i'm going to keep the money in my own savings account! I always lost out so trying to avoid it here!
Signature updated! x0 -
Soooo on a whim i applied for a santander 0% credit card! I did this as this is the account where im paying the family loan back to so hoping this will look good and help the credit terms! If not i'll apply for a Halifax one where my current account is with!
Won't save me THAT much but i'm currently paying around 45-50 interest on other card at moment!
THEN ideally when finances are sorted if i pay my balances off in full look my mammy tells me to i'll be apply for the cashback credit card at santander! Ideal world eh!!! x0 -
Taking the "extra bag" back today. To get back a grand total of £4! yeh baby! Good timing as the necklace I ordered for my mates birthday has came in AND got a call saying they have the replacement Pandora bracelet in. 3 birds and one stone!!!

OH and I have decided we're moving. End of. Plan to sell his flat and start looking to rent some place but there are actually some cheap flats on the outskirts of of City Centre to be found! So if a deposit can be mustered think we may actually buy somewhere! Or just rent somewhere cheap for a while and keep saving/clearing debt. Had my heart set on a flat but its gone so now I'd feel like im settling when looking at others so renting is looking good for a while. Kind of have an idea of an area I want, but he's not keen on it, not as good as the area we are currently but at the same time its not a bad area either! Just need to convince the OH! I have all these grand plans!

Whilst writing this I realised I was late with a bill. Got a £25 charge!!! Just went you start to think your in control...0 -
I'm sooooo sorry I do feel that all I do is b*tch and moan on here, but it actually helps and inspires me! Honestly. Just more affirmation about how stupid I've been. I STILL can't believe how stupid i've been!!!
So remember I talked about how everyone who I thought was as skint as me turns out to have all this money.
Well that's right, you've guessed it...
My other "skint" mate has...£17k in savings  that she's saved over last 2 years (I actually think it's more). Okay so she lived at home for a spell. She saved 11k (possibly more) to go travelling and didn't have to dip into it (she doesn't know I know the amount but I accidently saw her balance) and she has just told me she has saved a further 6k!!!
She is my inspiration now! I want to be mortgage free and have lots of savings...ahhh 1 day!
I just don't get how this seems to be so easy for everyone. Also MUG here when she was "skint" and I was being flash thinking I was minted I'd be like I'll pay for the Chinese etc, just give me it back later blah blah! She was never stingy or anything like that but was just obviously being alot smarter than me!
Dinner with mate last night - cost £15! Also took back the bracelet, took back the bag and picked up the necklace! Literally had to drag myself aware from the warehouse sale, honestly at one point I was at the till with a bag, bracelet and hairband. Was thinking I'll put the refunded bag to the cost - EH NOOO! :rotfl: That's not what the point in buying the bag was for! Cleary not as clear of my spending addiction as I thought I was! Need to limit time in the shops for only when spending on others or online!
Picked another bracelet up for my mate! Down to £3 from £16 and it is GORGEOUS, popped into the shops (whist tearing myself away from warehouse) and saw the bracelet i got her and its just not her. Going to send it back. Got her this one and the necklace. If i apply her logic where anything in a sale is a saving you've made then i'd should just be giving her the bracelet but i don't quite have the brass neck that she has so just giving her both, I love them both so if she doesn't want them come her birthday I gladly will!!! Total cost £6, cost not in sale £28!!! Spending £6 may seem cheap but i'm telling you if you knew this girl...
Cancelled specsavers, still owe them 2 months (£44) though as its in arrears you pay NOT advance like I thought - DOH! So need to phone up and pay that! Unexpected cost. MUST phone up and pay that today before I run out of money!!!
On the plus side I've bought 2 birthday presents that's I'd usually spend £40-£50 on for a total cost of £19.75! That I would not be embarrassed about handing over. I've also be endlessly scouring the net and bought a wedding present that costs approx £90 for a total cost of £53. I'm telling you what a bit of effort and organisation can do! Got another mates birthday but shes not getting anything as she never got me anything (you don't give to recieve but I don't care a card should have been at least sent), not going out for drinks either as i have a hen weekend!
Feeling like a miser but need to get over this pleasing everyone and buying far too much for everyone.
Moan moan moan moan moan :rotfl:
2 more mates birthdays (both very generous ones) and then i'm done till august on friend birthdays! THEN I just need to get the flipping family sorted! :rotfl:0 -
Hi Bad Weather, just popping in as "saw" you on my diary. :hello:
I used to get my contact lenses through Specsavers as well but it's sooo much cheaper getting them online. I used to use monthly lenses but as I only wear them for special occasions I decided to try daily lenses and I like them a lot more. So you can definitely save there.
Well done on spending so much less on the birthday presents. I must admit I only buy for close family birthdays now as my friends are so forgetful it's unreal! I've known most of them for at least 10 years and they still never remember my birthday. I just refuse to buy anything for them anymore - a card is more than enough and I don't even get one back most of the time. It can be quite hurtful when they forget about me.
I mean, it's the same day every year! :rotfl: Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,345, Car loan CC 0% BT £4900. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Hey Sashybo :hello:
Yeh thanks thats good to know! I was actually thinking about doing the same and getting 2 weeklys and getting a stash of dailys for specialy events and nights out etc as i do like dailys!
My friends are the same even the good ones it depends on how skint they are and how organised the type of present I get! My super cheap mate i'm tempted to suggest to her that we just leave presents this year (she's just had a baby so thats my excuse), as honestly i'd rather just keep my money as what i get compared to what i buy is just not even remotely comparable (blah blah i know thats not why your supposed to give). And in the last year its just been completely random stuff that i have no idea what i would actually do with?! :wall:
It is hurtful isn't it! I think thats why i've became a miserable cow this year! Years of pent up frustrations...thats my excuse and i'm sticking to it! :rotfl:0
