Sorry chaps, feel guilty piling in the middle of your woes...
I can access all my files without Serviio but it keeps the same folder structure as on my PC.
The files have a generic icon (named of course) but all the movies have the same default icon.
With Serviio, a connection is made to IMDB (or others) and the cover art is downloaded automatically (the same as you see the DVD's on the shelf in Blockbuster).
The Films are automatically sorted by Genre, Actor, Year (however you choose).
TV series are automatically sorted into Season folders with a screengrab from within the episode showing as the icon instead of the cover art.
Essentially it looks pretty impressive but of course, the movie just plays the same as it would using the standard Windows Media Server.
Many thanks for your explanation.
I downloaded Servioo but had trouble with it.
Using Windows 7 Media Server I could access all my Music,Picture and home video files without any problem. After downloading Servioo all my HD video files started to stutter....all the other files were OK! After uninstalling Servioo I was able to play my HD files ok again!
I am quite happy with Windows 7 media server but it does not play my MKV files and thought Servioo might be an answer! Mezzmo gets good reviews and I might now try that but I hope it doesn't make my HD files stutter.0 -

Another suggestion for you - you mentioned earlier that your router is set up with WEP. Not a good idea, it's not very secure. If it and all your wireless device connected to it have WPA2 available you should change to that. You need to change it in the router first and then each of the devices. To change it in the TP-Link you would need to connect it by ethernet cable to the router again.
Have changed all devices to use WPA2, and TP-Link,
all is working fine was able to stream onto tv,
thanks very much for your advice and great help :-):j0 -
No probs - if in future you buy other network enabled gadgets to go with your TV (e.g. Bluray player, AV receiver, PVR, PS3 etc) all you need to do is get a 4 or 8 port ethernet switch. Plug one socket of the switch into the TP-Link and the other sockets to the individual devices. The boxes will then all connect to your network/internet via the TP-Link and your router. It will require no configuration other than the plugging in, as the network switch is dumb (unmanaged).604!0
