    Well the Maldives government seem to be convinced that sea level rising is a reality. This is them having a cabinet meeting in 2009.

    And what was the intended result of that meeting? They want $243 million. For that amount of money, I too will be desperately worried about my house being inundated by sea water (I live on a hill - but that won't make any difference) and am more than willing to dress in scuba gear for publicity stunts and the such like. I'll even have a shave...

    I do prefer cash to a cheque, but this is not a show stopper.

    I too live on a hill in a 3 storey house. If the worst comes to the worst I'll have to remove a glass panel from the balcony and tie the dinghy up there.

    Fortunately managed to run along the southern edge of the cloud, just a bit of spitting (from it not me!)

    there is a stream about 50m away from my ground floor flat... though the ground does have an incline of aobut 2 meters.... never been flooded yet....
