The fact they follow u just to be mean is serious enough in my opinion. I'd hit ignore and also state that's what u are doing against someone (but not who) on a thread they read. That way they'll know its futile. XRelax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0

Hello everyone! :hello:
Thanks for all the welcoming messages!! This seems like a very supportive thread :T
I've got a fancy dress party/work do on Thursday, so spent last night with the sewing box out, fur flying everywhere!! But come Thursday night I shall be transformed into a scary lion! Altogether cost me £10.88, decided to make it because fancy dress costumes are so expensive, I had no idea!
In a bid to be frugal I've decided to make my own body scrub using stuff in the kitchen, ad I'm pleased to say it's actually working!! I have really bad dry skin and it's definitely sorting it out :j
Still working on the SOA and budget, think it's going to be a case of slow and steady wins the race (I hope!)
Back to work...

I've started a couple of challenges, they are really nice, none of them so far require any money!0 -
Tumptyteapot there are a few of the things I have recently made on my homepage/blog. there isnt anything on the mooloo website at the moment. Hopefully at the beginning of the month there will be though! If I can get the time/energy to sew that is.
Your bags are lovely - what is your website?
not a terribly frugal day here but we are celebrating! I got carers allowance!0 -

as my 8 year old would say 'innit!'
It really takes the stress off, I'm going to try to save it up as we are not used to having it and it can be our emergency fund.0 -
Congratulations on getting the allowance, Tumpty. But bad luck with the wood!Well...reporting a stalker isnt something that always works unfortunately.
One can (and should) report particularly nasty posts a stalker has put up somewhere - but they do sometimes put up snide comments that they know you'll know are meant for you (but it wouldnt be obvious to the "outside observer").
So - overall - I have come to the conclusion that one does a combination of reporting particularly nasty posts and putting them on Ignore (so you dont see the posts personally - but just get told by MSE friends that there was "another one of those posts" and they've reported it for you).
One thing is totally clear though - and that is that its just a total waste of time to speculate (either openly or just within your own head) as to just why some people put up nasty posts against others. That is a total waste of time and energy to wonder why they do so - just think "There do seem to be some odd people around and some people just DO put up nasty posts for no obvious reason" and deal with it and move on...
I think nasty posts from stalkers might be down to maybe they're having a bad day and taking it out on you (yes I know they shouldnt), maybe they think you're a nasty person just because you have a different/perfectly valid viewpoint to their own (yes I know they shouldnt)/maybe you've inadvertently pushed a "hot button" of theirs that is there because of some way someone else mistreated them (or they think that person did...) in the past and they have "hit back" at you (even though you arent the person that did/they think did whatever-it-was to them)...who knows? and the only way to deal with these posts is to think "...and who cares?".
I agree that it may have nothing to do with you personally and I know it can be very difficult to deal with. On a forum, though, there's a record of all their posts so if RubyTuesday could show what was happening, presumably that person could be barred from the site. There are reports from time to time that cyberstalking and cyberbullying are going to be taken much more seriously (because of schoolchildren becoming suicidal). If people are taking it more seriously, that looks hopeful, but it depends on who you have to report it to. Apparently the law on 'normal stalking' (now there's an oxymoron) is already quite strong in England - the hard part is getting the police and others to understand what's going on and actually apply it.rubytuesday wrote: »Ooh nothing serious redglass just someone who delights in following me around threads making snidey remarks.
But it does get me down sometimes!x
As 23rdSpiral says, it's bad enough that they follow you round. A person doesn't have to be violent or openly abusive to come under stalking legislation, BTW. They only have to have a pattern of behaviour of deliberately upsetting you: even sending roses every week would count if the recipient has clearly said she doesn't want them.
nss.org.uk (a site for victims or potential victims of stalking) has a confidential advice service and I think it's also currently running a survey about cyberstalking.'Whatever you dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin now.' Goethe

Oh yes you're right tumpty, but what I meant was all the money that she had, after she became famous didn't help her, poor woman, and that money doesn't equal undiluted joy.
Took 11 year old DGD and DGD's BFF (phew!) out today and had a great time. Took them on ordinary buses in London, free, went to Hyde Park and St James's Park, Trafalgar Square, crossed the wobbly bridge, all free, free, free, Boots meal deals, sitting by St Pauls, then up the lift in One New Change, View Tube at Stratford by the Olympic site, free, and then home where I let them make dinner.
We had home made burgers, wedges and salad and strawberries and cream. The raw ingredients were all free, cos I had a £20 voucher for Mr T! :j :j :j
The girls had a great day, and so did I, and it was oh so frugal, but so much fun. And yes, I am well and truly ker-nackered now!!
xx
PS - If any of you signed up for the Ocado voucher, log in to your Crowdity account, and you'll find a lovely £20 Mr T voucher to use on a minimum £40 spend.0 -
Morning everyone,
I've been continuing my frugal-ness (it's quite addictive isn't it!) and I've plundered the Freebie pages and forumsI'm awaiting some tea in the post and have downloaded a Photoshop equivalent, free anti-virus, some games, a load of BBC podcasts, a dress pattern, and a budget cookbook!!!!
Off to GBK tonight for dinner with friends, we've got our vouchers printed and ready to go!
Off to do some work, have a lovely day :j

It's nothing serious everyone it's just digs and snidey remarks.
I know what's happening and a few other people are wise to it but as Ceridwen says no one else would be any the wiser.
Anyway a NSD for me yesterday.
I went to my son's for lunch with my daughter and he did us a lovely spread - 'Indian' steak, olives, artichokes, homemade quacamole , salami, hummus, pitta, salad etc.
Felt like I hadn't seen him for ages as he is often abroad for his work and he also went to Benicassim festival so that was good.
His fickle cat that I sometimes look after decided she loved me yesterday - often she treats me with indifference.
My cat Marmalade seems to be doing well - although she does have that moth bitten look about her. Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.
