  • i have been wondering for a while now if i should get a trendy shopping trolley?

problem i have is that is suffer from pain with my hips and back so cant walk that far unless i use a walking stick. my tesco is about 10 minutes walk away but takes me much longer as i have to walk slow. i seem to rely on mum for shopping as she generally goes on a saturday i go with her. but i dont want to rely on anyone anymore i want to be able to sort it out myself (and without the expense of a taxi home)
so figured a foldable shopping trolley would look ok.
    what do all think?
would i look like an old lady with shopping trolley and walking stick at 37 lol.
oh and they have some real nice ones on amazon, have already chosen 1 that will cost £12.98, so hoping to have an evoucher soon that would pay for it.:D

    xx

    3 coffee x 2 sugar.( 2 over my mates)

also manged to obtain a bag of mixed fruit off my mate, can anyone give me any ideas with what i can do with this.

    i have...

    half bag plain flour
    half pack lard
    butter
    eggs
    granulated sugar

i asked if she had some raisins or sultanas to put in my curry when i make it but she ended up giving me the whole bag, out of date mind 2009, but they be ok. not been opened.
  • Day one on WW2 rations, I am stuffed. Ate more sugar today than I normally do and still have loads left! Blogging it here if anyone is interested :http://www.whataworld.co.uk/?p=214
Spent 90p on a bone china side plate (I am collecting a set of mis matched ones) an egg cup and a stapleless stapler.
  • well done tumpty its sounds like you had a good day with your challenge. hopefully by wednesday you wont be worrying so much about rations etc. anything new is kinda scary. im enjoying reading your blog. i hope that others will read it and realise how much money they could be saving. x

    Hello fellow frugallers:j
All's fine and dandy here at GBT. As I have to get the train home from work on a Monday I take the opportunity to have a quick nose in the town on the way back. Today I picked up a few reduced bits in Waitrose and noticed that their Tate and Lyle 2kg of granulated sugar is cheaper than the other main supermarkets. Also picked up the items that were cheaper from Mr S than Mr T which I had held over from last week because I didn't need them immediately [I use www.mysupermarket.com for price comparision] which saved me a little.
Invested 100 pennies today in a pack of metallic sheets of paper from £land as I shall be able to use these along with my tissue paper to make some hm Christmas cards now that I have a design in mind.
Tumpty Teapot- during the second world war many used pears or apples instead of sugar in cakes to make their rations go further

  • Sandra so sorry to hear things are still unsettled. Remember that you need to take time out for yourself, which is easy to forget when you're as busy as you are. Hopefully your DD is now getting the treatment she needs and deserves. We are all here for you, you know that.
    Take care and huge hugs.
