paidinchickens wrote:Quite impressed and (as hubby explained) due to the air that mixes in with the water on the way out of the tap (I think that is what he said :rotfl:) it foams up the washing up liquid a lot more thus reducing the amount needed. We already put it in a hand pump and slightly water down so it means one bottle should last us yonks now xx
I love this tip! Never thought of that before. I always get a bit overexcited with the washing up bottle and use half a bottle in one go. Threw out a hand pump yesterday and instantly regretted not reusing it. :rotfl:MFW start date:22.6.13 - £138555 9.7.13 - £125937

My word, what a lot of posts to catch up on. Which I did skim read very quickly!
Oh I wish we could all meet up and go on a jaunt with Sandra. We would all have a brilliant day I'm sure!
Rising really pleased that the op is over and hope the itching settles down. Worst is over with now isn't it?
Ruby what a worry our animal friends are. Good to read that everything seems fine at the moment.
Can't comment on everyone's, too many, but love reading how enthusiastic everyone still is.
And hello to new posters.
Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. Been busy with one thing and another.
Popped in Mr As today. Normally even if I only want just a couple of things I'll still grab a trolley and spend a small fortune on things I didn't go in for, so today I picked up a basket and spent just £4.01p on what I went in for. I have to say it was hard, and oddly felt bereft, but was pleased once I got out of the store that I'd kept my money in my purse.
Still doing my x stitch Christmas cards and have just finished a crochet baby blanket for someone at work who's expecting a baby boy. Still feeling a bit tired but think it's probably the change in weather. If only we could hibernate till Spring.

Sounds like good crafting dizzy lizzie!
Went shopping for the week's perishables yesterday at Mr T's. LOADS of good whoopsies so gonna try the same time of evening next week. Could've got even more if I'd had a trolley instead of the buggy, but 5 month old DS does insist upon itGot some lovely fresh sea bass with a big reduction and made this http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/521237/sea-bass-with-couscous. Also found brand name real butter on a two for £2.40 deal which made it only a penny more than value stuff, so bought 4! should last us ages for nice baking and things.

Son is away til Friday, I'm sorting out for uni, and clearing out the house as well as trying to live pre-child and see all my friends! Boy is it hard work!! Lol
Made spaghetti bolognaise yesterday in mothers after they all left for a caravan holiday, n the only thing I had to provide was 2 tins of toms, which I have millions of! Pished up a plate for me n brother and tubbed the rest, ate one today and other is in freezer for another day.
Mr F (instead of calling him new guy, makes me sound like I have loads lol) (f for Florida, as that's what my friends call him.. hmm I wonder if the know his name??) Anyways, Mr F picked me up in his van to go stay at his, stopped in at the pub on the way, and sneakily introduced me to his dad! I was a mess! What I was wearing didn't even go together! He probably thinks I'm a looney!!
We went n got Chinese(he paid n picked up the food) n I had a btl of wine with me, we watched the Kevin Bridges dvd - live at the SECC, sooooooo funny! As soon as it was done I fell asleep! (Great girlfriend I am lol he feeds me n j fall asleep, only had 1 drink aswell )
So it was a no spend day for me.
Today, on the other hand, grr.... my car needs road tax, totally forgot at start of month, it also needs mot, n I just don't have the money just now, so the car is just sitting outside my house, fully insured, its really annoying but not much I can do.... and on Sunday, someone stole the reg plate at the back! Most randomest thing I've ever had happen.
Just bn informed I need to report it, but I can't till my road tax is sorted so going to see if I can flirt with the guy behind the post office to sell me the tax without the mot cert. I doubt it tho!, will be worth a try, just hope my knockback doesn't end up on rude tube or something lol

Ah Lola, having a NSD and then finding you have to pay a William (big bill) is the way of life.
I was having a great start to my Frugal Four Months, and then my dog started whining when he ate anything that was slightly hard.
I looked at his teeth, and they were in need of cleaning, and some of his gums were sore. So off we went to the vet and were booked in for yesterday.
The vet said I was lucky cos he could do it early in the day and as my dog had to have this done under general anaesthetic, he wouldn't have to stay in over night.
When I collected him, I was given 14 antibiotic tablets, and a King William for .......... £367!!!!!:eek::eek: I had been pre-warned of the cost, and I adore my little-man-in-a-fur-coat, but life is a game of snakes and ladders. You save a bit, then spend a lot, but hey! Even though we have been warned of a cold winter, and snow next month (!!!) I shall be snugly warm with my free soup and hot flushes!!
DGD coming for dinner tomorrow, so good ol' spag bol, enhanced with a (free) jar of Sacla Tomato and Marscapone Sauce.

Curse you M & S :-) their £5 wine is really nice and since it's been a difficult week (cat to vet on monday, not looking good, on pills for a week to see if it makes her more comfortable and if not I'll have her put down) I popped in to get one. Their meal deal for 2 is only a tenner so I got fish pie, veg, trifles and wine spending £5 more than I meant to but ending up feeling like I had saved money.......0
