Oooh, bit of excitement at Chez And (that's me) this evening. It's Amazon Vine evening, they send out a twice monthly newsletter with books and other goodies you can ask for to review (you have to be invited to be a member by Amazon.) I was paused over the keyboard this evening and got a really nice Braun Oral B toothbrush. I have no luck with leccy toothbrushes so am crossing my fingers.
I also got an audio CD of A Brief History of Mathematics, I missed this on the radio, so I'm really chuffed. Others were offered toiletries, so there may be some on offer next week.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Well hello. I have been reading with interest all the lists that people have been admitting to, all the time feeling quite smug that i wouldn't have that much stuff....until today when i made a list and it covered over 2 sides of a4 paper -oops. therefore I have been brave and said hello so please can i join in with you all in the confessions of a toiletry-aholics. I now have a box in the bathroom called 'to use up next', and hope to reduce the number of items (2 shelves of a cupboard and a bathroom cabinet). My weakness is for Liz earle stuff (especially the minis), completely converted to it after i didn't come out in spots after doing 10days of am-dram with stage make up on every night and the c&p cleanser kept my skin sane.
Welcome. I used to have the same addiction to LE and managed to amass the minis from QVC TSV kits but I've since seen the light and try not to order from there anymore. In fact I've weaned myself right off LE with my only faves of her products being the Skin Repair Moisturiser and Daily Eye Repair. Don't have either of these in my stash at the mo as I'm trying other alternatives.mad_scientist wrote: »I am a very long way from this stage :rotfl:
Me too.
I've no UU to report this week. Did feel the urge to shop in my stash though as I felt like using my Philosophy Double Hot Cocoa shower gel again and didn't have a sweet smelling butter/lotion open. Have started using a Boots Extracts honey body butter with it which is yummy.
Have painted my nails today and am wearing OPI Houston We Have a Pruple. One of my fave new colours.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

One small UU for me, Montagne Jeunesse Fine Line Masque sachet. This comes as 3 sachets and you are meant to use one every other night. It's an overnight facemask. But one sachet lasted me 4 applications! It's very rich but my face does feel very soft. I have the other 2 sachets to use before I move in 2 weeks! I have a small list of stuff that needs to be a UU before then, otherwise it'll be an OUT cos they are splutterers or stuff I don't like.

One OUT this morning - B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful 1000 Kisses Deep perfume. WBA as it's quite an unusual scent - kind of like a woody citrus but a bit deeper - and would work well for lots of different occasions. I am actually a bit sad to see it go in a way as the company that made it has now closed down (it was the beauty offshoot of Lush) and although the perfume is still going at Lush the new bottles are nowhere near as pretty
*is shallow like that*
Next up: Body Shop Tea Rose Perfume Oil."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
An out !
50ml TBS Mango Body Butter- WBA- I do like this and the travel size makes it handy for my gym bag.
I'm off to Berlin for a jolly soon so i'm taking my TBS Shea 60ml and a travel shower gel so fingers crossed I'll have some UU on my return!0 -
I think I might also write to lush (again) as my vanillary solid has got a ridiculous amount of grainy vanilla pod which makes it impossible to use. Since joining the challenge I've found that their products are too expensive and the quality doesn't seem to match:(
So many of their products seem to be unfit for purpose. I had a shampoo bar that was so full of huge fatty chunks it quickly disintegrated and was extremely uneconomical. I should have complained, but presumed that was the nature of the bar. Carp.
I'm also unhappy over the fact that Lush support the Hunt Saboteur's Association. I'm no fan of fox-hunting as it used to be, but I do support human rights and the HSA was associated with some despicable acts.
One of the HSA's charming traits was in unleashing tirades of foul-mouthed abuse at children, in the hope that they would be so upset, they wouldn't want to go with parents or carers next time. I suppose they never thought that the children would be so traumatised they wouldn't want to step outside the door for anything? Nice.

two UU's to report
Garnier Soft Essentials Face Wipes
WIBA? Yes have another already in my stash, I like these ones but they can be a bit pricey, only buy them when they are on offer.
Clinique All About Eyes
WIBA? Probably not, didn't think it did much.0 -

was that the godiva 2 in 1 bar? I think because it has conditioner chunks in it, it would crumble as I've heard people say the same thing. I think I may stop buying from there completely. I remember going into the shop once and not understanding why they don't support biodiesel. They told me that it harms forests etc. but I think until we come up with alternatives, it's better than diesel. Similarly, PETA attacked Jamie Oliver for supporting british meat and not telling the country to turn vegetarian. totally unrealistic and a waste of time. Why not support him for doing something that will actually make a difference instead of expecting everyone to follow their beliefs? Lush also covered a canadian flag in tar which I remember angered a lot of people and I don't think was right.
I haven't heard much about the HSA, but what would shouting at abuse at children achieve? why wouldn't they want them to go with their parents?
