Isn't beer supposed to be good for your hair? You could save a fortune on shampoo and just get someone to chuck a pint at you at the end of the night :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

As what I do at the festival is "looking after" the beer - so getting it ready to serve, ensuring the quality is good etc, I often end up wearing it, and I can honestly say I've never noticed any different in the shininess of my hair afterwards! :D

    :wave:Afternoon lovelies,

I am on a UU roll right now.

UU Ren Rose Body wash 200ml WIBA? This ticks the boxes for me as far as performance and fewer nasties than most but I'm not in love with the smell. (I prefer the grapefruit and the seaweedy ones.)

UU Shiseido Daily Bronze 150ml WIBA? This is great moisturiser and subtle gradual daily tanner for pale faces like me. It's really blimmin' pricey though so regrettably I don't think I could bear to buy it again!

UU Nails Inc Caviar Base Coat WIBA? I will eventually probably, but I have vague ambitions to switch over to toluene free polish like Nubar and Sparitual completely. I have other base coats to use up first anyway.

UU Quickies Nail Varnish Remover pads WIBA? I like these because I think there's less chance of me making a mess with them, but like any kind of wipe they do work out to be pretty expensive compared to the liquid product.

So I have an in to announce:

Superdrug Nail Polish Remover Acetone formula which is £1.09 for 250ml. It makes short work of glitter polishes and shatters.

Hope you're all having a great day.

congratulations lynsee, that's great news! hope everything works out :j

bohemianrose- I think this explains it better, it might not be the same thing though http://www.makeupsavvy.co.uk/2011/06/my-thoughts-on-glossybox.html

it sounds quite good but I'm not sure I could get it every month as it would end up being quite expensive:(

    I have some more UU:
BS nutmeg and vanilla soap x2: WIBA? no, it didn't have much of a scent and was quite drying

sanctuary madelular souffle: WNBA I loved the texture but hated the smell! in fact all of the sanctuary BB I have tried have given me a headache.

vaseline cocoa butter: WNBA- this was more an out as I forgot it in the car, it melted and then spilt all over me:o I'm quite bored of this and prefer others. I'm not sure I like the thought of eating all that petroleum jelly either:eek:

BS hemp BB sample pot: WNBA- eurgh, smelt awful, prefer other smells

BS cherry blossom shower gel: WNBA- I think the imperial leather japanese spa smells nicer and is much much cheaper! this was quite drying as well.

sweetie pie shower jelly: WBA- smells great, quite economical (compared to lush soaps) plus I can collect pots to exchange for a face mask.

I think I might also write to lush (again) as my vanillary solid has got a ridiculous amount of grainy vanilla pod which makes it impossible to use. Since joining the challenge I've found that their products are too expensive and the quality doesn't seem to match:(
    Toiletry spend £34.95 In: 10 out:13
  • Thanks Alanis and Adilade! :D I'd never heard of these subscriptions before I got sent the email - I googled the samples for £1 and have signed up to Latest in Beauty - I'm guessing that's the one that you're a member of, Alanis? Can't wait till my samples arrive!! I looked at Glossybox too - the samples look amazing and like proper minis - I might have to treat myself one month, but as you say, it would quickly add up over several months! All these temptations... :)

Well hello. I have been reading with interest all the lists that people have been admitting to, all the time feeling quite smug that i wouldn't have that much stuff....until today when i made a list and it covered over 2 sides of a4 paper -oops. therefore I have been brave and said hello so please can i join in with you all in the confessions of a toiletry-aholics. I now have a box in the bathroom called 'to use up next', and hope to reduce the number of items (2 shelves of a cupboard and a bathroom cabinet). My weakness is for Liz earle stuff (especially the minis), completely converted to it after i didn't come out in spots after doing 10days of am-dram with stage make up on every night and the c&p cleanser kept my skin sane.
£400,000 starting Jan 2020 current end date Aug 2041 I would love the end date to be 2027 but will aim first for 2037.
    1% target £4000 so far £20 paid

Welcome:) Liz does some great products but gets a bit expensive but very good for sensitive skins. My stash is going down so quickly I'll have to actually shop in the shops soon:eek:

    Evening ladies

I have my first UU to announce - Soap & Glory "up butter" WIBA - definately, totally love Soap & Glory stuff and find that all their products suit my skin.

I still need to formulate my list of toiletries that I have stashed all over the house - will try to get on it this weekend.
    MFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 2020

I am a very long way from this stage :rotfl:
Boots and BS will probably have closed down before I need to buy anymore shower gels!! Well, BS will have anyway what with all their b****y sales and special offers!

Hello iamsalt, welcome to the challenge!
Now, will you be posting this toiletries list so we can all have a good nosy?
It's the only way we can get a "fix" without going to the shops :rotfl:

Alanis - no you are not on your own with the glue thing, I like hot candle wax too, dip all fingers in, let it dry then peel off. Once I was doing this in a restaurant when the candle was still lit and i set the table cloth on fire:eek:

mmm, yeah me too!! I am intending to get a parafin wax bath soon so me and my mom can share it. She gets dry skin and arthritis and I get eczema [STRIKE]and like peeling the wax off[/STRIKE] so good for both of us =]

I does help sometimes you're right - I try (although admittedly not very hard :o) to get OH to drag me out with him and Big Dog - but the pain this week is in my hip and I'm finding everything very difficult  Roll on my appointment with the CFS/CPS specialists next month :T

(Little Dog I can walk myself but he often refuses to go - at the moment he can make it halfway round the block then he lies down and I have to carry him home :rotfl:)

The masks are fun - until you have to peel it off your eyebrows  :rotfl:

    :eek: :rotfl::rotfl:

And aww about Little dog, I couldnt carry my dog home, he's small but weighs 20kgs!! hes not fat, but he's got ALOT of muscle! Pulled over my 22 stone father when he saw a cat!
