    Hi everyone.

Nothing to add from me, nothing UU, IN or otherwise.

Feeling a bit mooooo at the moment - basically was upfront with management at the job and asked if they wanted to keep me on, they said they would let me know by the end of the day (3 days ago!) and Ive not heard anything since.
Basically been re-offered that job at the loan company (yes Im sure you all remember) but if Im totally honest, financially Im no longer in any kind of position to be fussy. Now just figuring out what to do, don't know if to tell my current temp job/agency because I don't want it to backfire on me but at the same time I am hoping it could possibly force the issue and they give me an awnser one way or another. Don't really know! But I cannot physically afford to turn this job offer down and then 2 weeks down the line find my temp job ends

Hi Charlie. I sympathise. I have been in a temp job for over a year because a carrot was dangled in front of me at the beginning with the inference that a permanent position would become available and it hasn't. I have been told that "there is budget for my position until April 2012" which again is no guarantee of anything so I am now treating this as a bit of breathing space to find something elsewhere. If I were you I would have a word with the agency and ask how long the placement is meant to be for and let them know you have been contacted by another prospective employer. I think it's probably too early for the firm you are with now to say whether they would offer you a permanent position.

So back to toiletries because thinking about job hunting makes me feel miserable! Went to TBS today and they kindly substituted the seaweed cleanser I previously purchased for a bottle of Aloe cleanser. There is also an offer whereby if you spend over £15.00 on facial skincare you get a free moisturiser (50ml size of either the Vitamin C or Vitamin E). When I went to the till to pay with my giftcard the SA said that I was not entitled to two promotions together but because she had told me I could have the free moisturiser already she overrode the till and I came away with : Aloe Cleanser, Nutrilift Serum and Vitamin E moisturiser (worth £10.00). I paid £11.00 in all so pretty chuffed as had I "bought" it all myself I would have paid £26.00 (not counting the cleanser as this was a straight swap).
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

The bit I bolded is the most frustrating thing! - there is one woman there, she's been there a month and had NO experience in the role before. She was asked on her first day to be perm, another girl was asked on her second day - which is why its so frustrating because Ive pretty much done the job before anyway and the still won't give me an awnser but were bloomin quick to offer other people. I had an email from the agency today reminding me about submitting my timesheet so I might reply along the lines and mention Ive been offered something else, at least that way she might contact the company directly....

  • I have four UUs to report.
    - Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub.
WIBA? NO! I didn't like this scrub at all and it made no difference to my skin.

    - Radox Shower Therapy African Escape.
WIBA? I dunno. It wasn't something that wowed me.

    - Rasasi Perfume.
WIBA? No probably not. I bought this abroad because of the price. I was keen on the smell but it's not appealing to me anymore.

    - FCUK Perfume.
WIBA? No. Dh bought it as a birthday gift last year and I don't really like the fragrance.

not wanting to lead anyone astray BUT saw on facebook a bS code for today only an extra 50% off sale stuff:).... EXTRA in code box,I went via Quidco but not sure if that will work as well!OK so I don't need 3 body scrubs and 3 body butters plus a shower gel to get free delivery but all that for £22 has to be good :)

Rosemary if it helps put it into perspective your £73 is roughly 3 weeks to a months "disposable income" for me!

List updated btw - usual rules apply, pelt me with manky handcream if I've missed you off!

Charlie if the job you've been offered is the one I'm thinking of PLEASE don't take it - you are in every position to be fussy if the decision is taking a job which will rob you of all your self respect. Bide your time with where you are - it's all money in the bank whether perm or temp.

Yup... as mentioned previously, tea tree oil can be added to shampoos and conditioners to make your own tea tree version and is good against athlete's foot.

Almost anything that is moisturising will do as foot cream, particularly if it is past the use by date. Vaseline is wonderful for conditioning leather, I often use it on my shoes after I've used it on my feet!

I've never heard that before - doesnt it make the leather greasy?

I've got a Mitchum spray anti-persp that is very sting-y in armpits, (the roll-on is my HG. Weird.) but it does a great job on my feet, as does the body scrub that I dislike using on my torso.

    Hmmmm............I'm temped to try that...

Body brushing has made scrubs redundant anyway for me.
You can use talc as dry shampoo if desperate; I don't recommend it. Any conditioner can be used as a moisturiser for shaving and that seems to work ok.

I use cheap conditioner for shaving - or soap - when we run out of shaving gel.

My other chief use for Vaseline is as a barrier for hair colourant, it works really well for that.

Its brilliant for that - stops all those horrible stains that won't come off!

What Vaseline does to leather shoes is give them a gorgeous gloss, if you use too much it's sticky, yes, but the worst that will happen is that you will get a few flecks of dust or debris on there.

    Wow! 13 pages already!!??

Well, so far this month, I've only had one IN and 2 OUTs
In; Garnier Exfo Brush - the one that gets rid of blackheads
Outs; 2 No7 nail varnishes one in "Nougat" and one top and base coat. Really pee'd off currently as I hadnt used either of them, but they've gone gloopy/dry :mad::mad: Were both in a french manicure with a white "highlighter" which is still fine!!

Watching QVC, theyve got OPI Nail Envy x2 for £16.75... Hmmmm...
