So it's been a year since i last posted. Just updated the budget and we should be debt free by 2018. It's been a really hard slog, OH still not working cos mentally he can't cope. We've had family bereavement and I've started going to counselling to cope with all the stress. However the end is slowly coming into sight. Hopefully I will get a payrise next year and we can trim back to april 2018 for our end date.
Staying positive but need to get my budget pants on again! L2B.xLBM 2008 [STRIKE]£45,091.23[/STRIKE] eek: now £7889:T Debt free date 18/07/2018

Hi!
Sorry to hear of all the stresses you've had to go through- gotta be tough. But you have shown that no matter what life decides to throw you you can keep on track with your debts and there is light at the end of the tunnel!!
Well done for how far you've come! And good luck on the rest of your journey xxxTotal Debt:

Considering all the obstacles you have had, you are continuing to do a great job getting this debt down. Just need to keep your end goal in mind and think what a difference it will make to your life. I hope things pick up and that debt free date may be closer than you think. X0

Thanks guys. Just realised this morning that we have only a quarter of our debt left to pay. Sorry for gushing but it is a little exciting that we are getting there. 8 years down the line and we can finally see the light. So. My marriage is over. I am in the process of sorting that whilst continuing to work and look after kids and pay off debt. I have taken on the debt and he walks away after signing equity of house to me. It's not much but it balances out.
I have 8k left to pay off and this horrid event will be over. I have put in for a f&f settlement of 5k. My friend is lending me it to get me out of the relationship. Then i can take on mortgage and continue to pay friend back asap.
It's gonna be hard and messy but I need a fresh start.
I've learned lots from this site over the years and have just rebooted my spending diary. I am also about to change my mobile to sim only and cancel his. Saving of 60quid per month. I need to find a way to save. So back to the boards for inspiration that i have lost in the last year or so.

Just wanted to say welcome back. Looks like you've done a great job debt busting over the past few years. Sorry to hear about your marriage breakdown, keep the end goal in sight so you can enjoy a new start and a debt free life! Good luck xDebt Total October 2017 £20,511.27 :eek:0

Sorry to hear about your marriage break up. It's easy at a time like this to lose focus but it sounds like you are staying on track and are making plans to get debt free even sooner. It's a stressful time but it will pass and it sounds like you have had to pretty much cope on your own for a long time now anyway. Wishing you well and a more peaceful debt free future.0

Feels like time is dragging atm. As soon as f&f are sorted i can move on with my life. Stepchange have been excellent but just want to know if creditors are accepting. My other concern is that barclaycard will finally default me for a full and final offer. I want to put mortgage in my own name once wx moves out and barclaycard could jeopardise this with a default.
Any suggestions?
