Yes will do
I also had this email from a person off the sony forum who works for sony (but just on the net)
Sorry to read about it. There has certainly been some folks on this forum raising their concerns regarding faults to this unit. However we sold a huge amount of them and from what I can tell the failure rate is very small and certianly not indicative of any sort of inherrent problem.
Thats not to say you cant raise the issue. While I cannot speak on their behalf I would send the details, along with a repair estimate form the authorised repair centre to the CIC Core team and the address belowCustomer Information CentreSony United Kingdom LimitedJays CloseBasingstokeHantsRG22 4SB
Hope this helps

I think i might be better dealing with currys? As its £60 and they come and take the telly and offer free repair if its manufacturing fault, sony seems to want similair at their repair centre but then im not sure what they will do? From other posts on forum it sounds like they offer partial payment for repairs hence why i think im better off with currys?
My partner is paid 29th of this month so unless he makes some extra cash before then i wont be able to update for a little while.
ThanksMum of 2 Under 5s

Yes, I would keep dealing with Currys. Sony aren't responsible for anything, so if it turns out to be a manufacturing fault, they could still ask you to pay for the repair.CoolHotCold wrote: »Whatever happens, keep the thread updated.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
We have paid the £60 and tv should be collected in a week.
Lets see what they say.Mum of 2 Under 5s

A bit late posting now but for anyone in a similar situation, you could also get a independent report done yourself. Always worthwhile ringing round tv repair places to ask how much a report would be.
If found to be an inherent fault, the retailer would still be liable to refund the cost of this report and repair/replace/refund.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

If its TRLOD then you're screwed. My son got this with his PS3 and it worked (after fixing) for a week, and broke down. He has a new slim one, which he's had for a year. I got the same with my XBOX and I fixed it. was OK for a week then broke down. Hope you have more joy than me.0 -
i'm in a similar situation as skintmumof2 with my washer/dryer which is barely 3years old so please keep us informed. thank you0
