Tesco - 15p Off Petrol?

Has anyone heard anything about this? I don't want to start any hares running, but was in a Tesco Extra today and saw one of the staff working on a screen which had a headline about 15p off a litre (not 5p).

I imagine it's the usual thing, spend £50 (maybe more to qualify) - in response to the Sainsburys 10p off thing.

And then on a another website, have seen somebody writing it as well. Nothing on the Tesco website though.

Anyone heard anything?

Surely you could buy the coke & tuna to get the 15p off voucher & return them saying you don't want them?

Thanks - utter waste of time.

Tesco are losing it, imho, wot with this and the latest points 'promotion', following on from the DTD farce.

All started with the CEO leaving, and too many of the marketing department looking to be 'innovative'. Pity.

    Tank holds 50 L of fuel. 5p/L * 50 = £2.50
4 pack of Princes tuna in Brine = £6.99. Net cost = £4.49.
4 pack of Tesco tuna in Brine = £3.50.

Still cheaper to buy Tesco. ASDA's prices are £4.00 and £3.52 respectively.

Can't find the 30 pack of Coke @ Tesco...

It's £10 for a 30 pack of Coke. It's £4 for a 15 pack in ASDA, so £8 for 30. So on the basis that the Grocer says that the "basket must include a four-pack of Princes canned tuna and a 30-can pack of Coca Cola" to qualify for the offer, you're paying £2.99 extra for the tuna and £2 extra for the Coke, or £4.99 in total.

Which might be worthwile if you were saving 15p per litre on a 50 litre fill, which would be £7.50. And if you were really clever you could make sure that your basket qualifed for the TPC and you could at least get back the £2.99 extra you paid on the tuna.

The same tuna is on at £4 in our tesco store at the moment, big display saying save £2.99, (but lovely dtd, as it is scanning at £6.99), but nothing about the petrol savings. Only petrol saving we have at the minute is spend over £50 - could this be regional?

I'll just buy their brand save an extra 99p and get the saving I would have if I'd gotten Princes.
