Afternoon everyone. I seriously need to get back into the budgeting habit, so I'm going to try and finish a month's challenge. Could you please put me down for £250 for August? Many thanks,

After reading the past few pages I'm feeling slightly better as loads of people seem to be way over budget.

I'm really going to concentrate on the food spending in August so please put us down for
    £400 .......
Need to get batch cooking and fill the freezer up with spare meals.

    Good luck everyone

  • Hi all have been lurking and reading some of the posts haven't updated total and decided to give up on july was around the £350 mark so I am happy with that. Should be interesting in august as children all at home although we are camping for 4 days and all food is included so should come in under budget

Please put me down for £350 again for august but I hope to come in under!!!
Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

Won't be shopping tomorrow so July total was £85-85 out of a budget of £150. Budget was set deliberately high so failure wasn't likely. Have kept my receipts and am pleased to find that quite a lot of what I spent was on "stock". So with a lot of stuff in the store cupboard/freezer I'm going to make a big cut for next month - gulp!

Declaring for July at 345.83 againt a budget of £350

A trip to Lidl this morning bumped my totals up. Some good bargains though which may help others considering a trip over - bulk buys mainly - half price cheese £1.34 400g (hadn't tried it before but it is very nice) and pork steaks £1.39/300g, 22p 100g nut chocolate (also nice), twin packs bacon at 1.86, passata on offer at 29p, and pure orange small cartons for the boys packed lunches - usually 99p for 5 - on offer at 59p. 2litre semi skim is on offer at 75p which also helped, against £1.78 in the village co-op. I just need to find space for it all! Made pork stroganoff for dinner which as rather nice so glad I got lots of the pork.

Heads up for anyone who uses Coalville Lidl - there is a £5 off a £30 spend voucher in the 'your local store' leaflet, valid 11-17th August.

£132 to declare....am delighted but not quite sure how that happened....think the fact that the small person was away for a week might have helped plus running down the freezer and find some great whoopsies in Waitrose:j

Well this month was a disaster money wise!! Mainly due to moving house so having to stock up the cupboards etc, but now have lots of food in so hopefully next month will be better.

I am declaring £400 for this month :(

Can I be put down for £200 in August please, I am determined to stay within this!!

I was way over at £361 in my defence both my sons came home for a visit and I got a few goodies in. I am working on my spending habits but I do need to stop buying bargains when I do not need them.

Can I please be put down for £250 for August.
