GC SpendA**A
3 Large leeks 1.80
2 Bags Potatoes 2.00
Carrots 1.00
2 Packs Reduced Rosemary .20p
2 kg Loose Bananas .30p
Total Spend £5.30
2nd Purse
4 packs Batchelor Savoury Rice 40p ea £1.60
20 nights @ £3.00 per night for restocking to 2nd Purse for food eaten from freezer =£60 + the usual £10 per month = £70 paid to purse.
I like to keep just £100 in 2nd purse so I'm transferring £49.97 from the 2nd to the 3rd Purse. I want to buy a bigger fridge freezer, I will use the money in the 3rd Purse for that when I have enough.
I have 32 packs of Donald Russell mince coming at the end of August so I am trying to eat space in the freezer for that.
Although I am over budget, I still have the £60 I paid to the 2nd purse for food we ate from the freezer.
For those following the 2nd Purse, I've not spent much from the 2nd Purse this month because my food stock is only needing topped up on things that are running low, this week Savoury Rice ( I like to keep a few of those for lazy days).
So although I've declared a spend of £134.53 for July I still have £70 of that in the 2nd Purse. So my actual spend was £64.00.
As your stock builds up, you will find your weekly shopping bill reduces, as you wont have to buy anything you have in stock.
We had Mince and Potatoes last night, burgers, cauliflower cheese and Garlic and Rosemary potatoes tonight.
Love and Hugs to all those who need them xx
Please put me down for £125 for August. Thank you to all who run the thread it is greatly appreciated.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:

Hi everyone
I haven't been here for ages to update so haven't read any posts, I feel a bit out of touch! July has been a disaster grocery challenge wise, I would like to declare £296.88 for July! My worst month since I started and I'm not entirely sure why. I have been busy and maybe haven't spent as much time planning as I should have. Anyway moving on, can I have £200.00 for August please? We are away for 2 weeks and the food is coming from a different budget for that so I SHOULD come in under budget.
Hope everyone is well, have a nice day.

Good morning everyone,
I'm up to about £190 of the £200 with 3 days to go. It is possible I may go to the shops this weekend (new aldi super 6 on Sunday) but I intend to keep it to a minimum.
I'm not working again as my temp job finished last week but that means I'm spending less - fewer packups and have decided to work my way through some of the stores and freezer. You can only eat food so far out of date:rotfl:
Please could you put me down for £180 for August, but I would like to come in under that if I can.
Thanks to all who run the thread, hope MrsM is back with us soon and feeling better.0 -
Good morning,
Well what can I say for this month- did not even get myself organised to add my total hoped amount posted- Fail! so although I had hope for a total spend of £165 the actual amount was nearer £250 -£300This month is going to be different, I will stick to my budget! I'm going cash all the way and hopefully this will stop me wasting soooooo much money!
Could I please ask you to put me down for £150 this month- still got quite alot in the freezer and cupboards so this should be quite easy to stick to!
Many thanks to all who run this challenge- one day I will crack it!
Have a wonderful day everyone

Hello All. Declaring for July: £327.87 (over budget
) and the annual is at £2567.84. I am setting a budget of £320 for August, it is a 5 week month with my children at home. I wont be able to shop around as much for bargains but on the plus side less top up shops to avoid the dreaded "Can we have a comic/bubble mixture/sweets......."

nsd today, i went for a drive with hubby last night and we drove past the farm shop so i got a bag of spuds there up to £7.50 for 20kg of maris pipers and thats all they had in a big bag, so i'm into augusts budget but we have plenty of stuff in so hoping to keep spends low til we go away atleast
my landlord has just been with someone to look at our damp and there putting vented tiles in and pulling the insulation back more so hopefully that will help, if it's sorted by winter i should be able to dry my clothes inside and start slowly replacing my smelly furniture without it getting ruined again :j:j:jDEC GC £463.67/£450

Annual budget at £2016.63/ £4300.For those of us who like to get our percentages that works out at 47% of the budget spent at 60% of the year gone. I wish i could keep to that kind of saving but its highly unlikely. Did however manage a good haul of RTC meat for August paid £15 for over £60 worth. Hope eveyone has a good weekend."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

Last spend for July, pretty sure I went over budget this month. Dropped by Morrison$ and piled a small trolley high with fruit and veg and topped up at A!di rather than the other way around as I usually do. Spent £34.82 at Morrison$ and £14.81 in A!di. So declaring my July spend at £241.42. About £20 over budget, it was probably that trip to the Chinese market that did it, lol.:o Ah well, OH just got a raise so it's not the end of the world.:D
Please can I be put down for £220 for August? Just done a batch cook (though with quorn mince rather than meat) and it's a four week month instead of five, so I might squeeze in under budget.Dec GC; £208.79/£220
