Well I am now declaring £484.30 for July which is pathetic considering the budget was only £400, I also managed 13 NSDs so my aim for August is £400 again sorry don't know how to make it bigger and I am aiming for 14 NSDs this time. We are actually away for three nights in August which is why I am trying £400 again since it isn't a full month. Thanks to all that run the thread you are really inspiring me I really dread to think what we must have been spending since this is me watching what i am spending.

    Hi All

I have been awol for a couple of months but kept tabs on things Junes spend was £320!!!! Awful for us really but when I spoke to a friend yesterday she was envious as she spends over £100 a week to feed the same amount of people. July's spend is £211 - Much better!

So for August please can I be put down for £175 as we're away for 1 week of it.

  • Good morning everyone,

trying to declutter this morning and that includes food cupboards. Have sorted out a bag of bits and bobs from food cupboards to give to my neice.
I am really going to try to stop buying food this month, even whoopsies, as I really think I am addicted to buying.
Will try only to replace things which I run out of and cannot substitute with something I already have.

Wonder how long I will last until l am lured back into supermarkets.

I've gone slightly over my total due to some bulk buying this morning, but it'll last for months, so i'm not going to worry.

£7.80 in Lidl on 5 x blocks of cheese and 5 x bars of chocolate (both half price weekend offers)
£3.74 in Tesco on cherry tomatoes and 3 x body spray.

Please can you put me down for £55.00 again for August? I am running my freezer down still and think what I have will get me through until September, so no doubt then I will need to increase my total for a month or two.

well finally declaring 297.40/250.00 :(, not great obviously but only my first month of properly tracking our spending, and i included food, household stuff, papers, any sneaky lunchtime sandwiches and cat food!

in all honesty i didn't think i would get it as low as i did, but now have high hopes of keeping it under £200 for the next 4 weeks, logging on here every day helped keep me going and i swear i now question every single purchase, now only buy it if i need it or it's on offer,no more buying stuff "just in case" or without having a recipe in mind

    roll on august!
