This is my first month doing this and I really am not sure how much we spend but I can guarentee it is too much, i'm setting the budget at £400 for the month for 2 adults, 1 child, 1 baby, 2 dogs, a rabbits and 2 gerbils. I have a few issues, my OH is a nitemare and will not have cheaper stuff on some things such as tracker bars, lager, chocolate bars for work. We get our babies milk on prescription thank god but have to include nappies and food for her as she is 9 months she is on 3 meals a day and I can't freeze meals for her as they go really watery for some reason so she pretty much gets the ready jars which is TOO expensive. I have to do some shopping tomorrow but hopefully only a few bits so not too bad but main shop will be next weekend. Does anyone know can you freeze prepared veg, cutting swede really hurts my hands so I buy the prepared bag but only me and baby that will eat it so half goes in the bin was just thinking if I can freeze it then it would do two meals instead of one??

Swede freezes fine - I tend to cook it first

Jarred food - at 9 months baby can have anything you're eating (within reason) - just mushed a bit. I did baby led weaning with no 4 and it was easy - no purees, no jars, no mushing :) Just don;t add any salt to baby's food. Much cheaper:)

Hi I really would like to join as we really need to start cutting back and trying to save some money. Can you put me down for £200 this month that is for 2 adults 2 children and a small dog. I am being safe this month but would eventually like to get that lower.

Put me down for £100 again for this month.

I have spent approx £11 today. But got loads of meat reduced and saved approx 75% on it.

Our month will go from the 1st until the 31st of July and our budget is £100. This is for my partner, me and 2 chinchillas. I really am hoping to come in way under though because of going over budget in June but I don't want to be unrealistic.

Right, I actually start my spending today. The thing that makes it most difficult is that my OH has a tendency to lie (on purpose) about how much he has spent. This is something we are trying to work on...I am actually going to walk away from the relationship in the end if it goes on. But it makes this a big struggle. However, going to try my best with it.
