  • I have been spending around £450 a month on food, toiletries, cleaning etc, that is for 2 adults a hungry teenage lad, and a smallish dog, that is ridiculous, every month I say to myself I am gonna do the challenge but never do, I have bought a new note book, to write down all the spending and keep receipts in, so I am gonna try for just £200, cook from scratch and bake bake bake! so I am all geared up, I love to cook from scratch but I work from home and I always busy, but thats no excuse, put some mince , chopped onion, chopped carrots, pasatta, herbs etc, in slow cooker, to start off tonights lasage, I love my slow cooker, anyway enough waffling, meals to plan etc, good luck with Julys challeng.:j

This is the first month of the challenge for me, doing it by myself for the last month hasn't worked very well, I am really excited to come on here and join in with others.

So as of today I'm at 0/240.

    Good luck everyone

My normal budget would be about £50 a week and then another £50 on top to cover for toilet rolls and other toiletries making about £250 - £300. Since being made redundant this week, this amount needs to be shaved as much as possible.

Fortunately freezer is pretty full (at least 3 cuts of meat for Sunday dinners :D) although the pantry is a bit bare. I'm aiming to use up every ounce of food that I have and not waste any. If it ends up being variations on pasta every night so be it... anyway, challenge for this month is £20 a week plus £20 toiletries and cleaning. Total challenge for month £100
It's going to be tough, but then if I haven't got any money it's not like I can buy food anyway....
