Think this month is going to be an epic fail yet again, DS was really unwell over the weekend, so sent DH shopping, big mistake, even though he had a list, he managed to buy the most expensive of everything I think  so another £63 spent and we've got visitors this weekend so need to do a pretty big shop for then too, if nothing else this challenge is making it blatently obvious where all our money goes :eek:0

Morning everyone!
Not doing great!! Spend £151 already but that did include a huge shop on 1st July with lots of whoopsied meat including a huge pork joint for £1.10 that will do us for 4/5 meals!! Hopefully just fresh fruit/veg, bread and milk to get for the rest of the month so I might just make it!! ALthough DS is 1 on friday so his cake and stuff for sandwiches to feed all the family visitors has to come out of that too and .......... he is on antibiotics at the mo so lots and lots of very runny nappiesmight have to purchase more before the month is out!
Good luck everyone!July £53/£155 Aug £6.55/£155

Good morning everyone,
beautiful day today. I am trying to clean out the cupboard under the stairs and I will be moving the last of my store of tins into cupboards in kitchen. Have decided I am going to stop stock piling so much food and from now on will only keep items such as toilet tissue, kitchen roll, washing up liquid etc. under the stairs.
Was given half a cabbage, broad beans and a lettuce from my brother's allotment, he also gave me some home made ratatouille made from allotment produce. So that will keep me going for a few days.
Hope you all have a good day.It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!0 -
I spent a big chunk this week at 41.18 but this includes a giant bottle of fabric softener so wont have to buy that for months to come to I suppose it all swings in roundabouts. I am new to this so I did my grocery shopping last night and really tried to keep it down and still came out spending a lot. So today I went around all my local shops on a mission to really see what they sell and their prices... what I want to know is can I return all my shopping from last night and start again?!
I did say a lot 'I paid double for that last night'. As someone said on here you do become addicted to how much things cost and I was getting excited when something was £1 pound cheaper etc. I cant wait to go grocery shopping now at the end of the week to see how much I spend! I am amazed though at how much I just accepted and never really thought about. This site has definitely taken off the shutters so to speak. A great big giant THANK YOU to everyone! :T:T ok will stop rambling now.

Another busy weekend! Made my usual rounds on Friday, spent £26.99 in A!di and £18.65 in Morrison$. Total up to £90.17. Bought myself a lovely piece of coley for dinner and stuck it on the barbecue over the weekend.
OH finally got around to planting that tomato plant and planted some lettuce as well, so I shouldn't need to buy tomatoes or lettuce for a while. If only I had more room in the garden I'd have him plant more stuff!Dec GC; £208.79/£220

Only my 2nd week of meal planning and proper budgeting. Had set weekly food budget at £85.00 ( for family of 5) and after last week thought i'd try and shave £5.00 off this week, well without really trying I only spent £73.17, £11.83 less ! Very pleased :j
Main shop done at Lidls and extra few things at Morrisons. Now if I can only wean the rest of the family off branded breakfast cereals I would save a fortune.0 -
I didn't too badly on my food shopping this week. Spent £13.50 at sainbugs and £2 at poundl*nd. Must go to poundl*nd more for crisps and stuff as they were much cheaper than at sainbugs! Not that I should be eating junk food, but sometimes you have to give into your cravingsMortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000
