Oops - have just blown a hole in this months budget (not a good start). I spent almost £30 on catfood but it was because it was on offer - less than half price and will last our puss until early next year. :T Lets hope he doesn't suddenly take an aversion to the ones I bought (that would be typical).

However although it has come out of this months budget, in the long-term it's a huge saving. I've only just started bulk buying certain things and it does panic me slightly when I spend a large amount, but I just need to breathe and remember that it's short term pain for long term gain.

Just done this weeks shop, I worked out that I should be spending just under £13 but my OH text me to tell me he needed more crisps and chocolate for his lunches grrr.

Still the total bill came to £15.24 and considering the budget is £20 a week I'm doing ok. In total the spend to to date is £31.99

I managed to use £5.50 worth of vouchers to I even got change from a £10 note - of the £31.99 worth of shopping £15.50 has been via vouchers so £15 cash for two weeks is pretty damn good in my book.

I have enough food in the freezer to last about 2/3 weeks but I'm dreading after this when I will have to spend some serious money to buy food and my vouchers have now run out! Still hopefully I'll get a job before then *fingers crossed*

OH went out for Mr T's 3 for 2 on cereal and got 3 lots of Malted Wheats which will last our girls until the end of the month.

I need to get some milk and veg today but that should be it for the rest of the week.

I'm not venturing out to a shop for a long time lol, spent just over £30 today in Tesco, I can't believe how much I've spent already this month  think I'm well stocked up though. I'm finding it really hard to stick to a meal plan, something always crops up and puts a spanner in the works  I reckon that if I can crack the meal planning thing, I could actually keep under budget for a month :j

I've been meaning to update for a while, but got distracted with other things over the weekend!

Did my usual shop at A!di and Morrison$, £28.35 and £16.18 respectively. I've had 5 NSDs including today. I think I will have to do another batch cook again to restock the freezer.

Millie's cookies sound good too, I will have to have a go at making a batch.

Will have to go out for milk today later...probably buy the 3x 4pints for £3 offer since I am having 6 teens staying with us over the weekend for T In The Park, 2 who I've never met:eek:. It'll mostly just be breakfasts and then late night munchies to provide, and several bottles of shampoo and conditioner i expect:rotfl::rotfl:. Apparently they're camping the last night...we shall see.

Yesterday ended up spending £7.90 on a bottle of much needed wine, 2 boxes of teabags and paracetemols, so will add to my total.

  • Been slightly naughty today. Bought cakes from Greggs at £2.40 and bought a small lunch for my mum and I ( she always buys) and buying DD and I chinese tonight. Feel I need to treat her as DS is going out for dinner with their dad and for some weird reason he didn't ask DD. I suspect it's because he has seen her and not DS but she is not well pleased. So we will share a main course and I will pick it up instead of a delivery to keep the cost down.
